My employer is sending me to Phoenix week after next for a few days. I've never been to Phoenix and I don't know anyone there either.
Any suggestions on good dinner places would be appreciated.
A live music venue rec would also be appreciated.

As I said in Rummel's third link.
Daily Dose in Scottsdale. Chicken soft tacos are great. They do a good breakfast too.

I was just there. We went to Pizza Bianco, Cibo (Pizza), The Teeter House (Japanese, authentic as it gets), Vitamin T (Taco Place), Sam's (Southwest), and a beer bar called Copper Blues.
Cibo was far and away the best option. Pizza Bianco and The Teeter House are the two James Beard award winning places and I thought they were excellent. Be prepared to wait at Pizza Bianco, we waited for 2.5 hours in their guest house drinking and snacking on great appetizers.
Everything was in walking distance of our downtown hotel with Cibo being the furthest away. Spent a few nights at Copper Blues which had like 40 beers on tap. Surprisingly did not eat a lot of Southwest food.

Beaver Choice
I ate here a few weeks back. It was excellent. I had the chicken schnitzel cordon bleu. Everything there is prepared to order so don't go if you're in a hurry.
