I was thinking about this because people were saying Loston was up for a great year but if he doesn't, then I have to put him as a huge bust for all the hype he had coming in to LSU. Another guy who you may not agree with would be Russell Sheppard. I know the 2 guys listed are a bit premature since they are still on the team but Sheppard was the #1 recruit in the nation and he has done little to nothing IMO.

Xavier Carter (i think that was his name, WR from Florida) comes to mind, Brad Smalling, lineman from W. Monroe

Those are two from off the top of my head that I can think of.

and wasn't Amp Hill's brother, another WR, a 5 star that didn't pan out?

This post has merit with regards to Shep, but if you insist on calling a player a bust, at least have the courtesy to spell his name right

Shep being a bust is more of the coaches fault IMO..they haven't utilized him very well, especially last year

anyone that says Shep or even Loston have not followed LSU football more than the last 4 years. Those are ridiculous answers

Shep wasn't the #1 recruit in the nation. He was #1 dual-threat QB...which is part of the reason he hasn't panned out because he switched positions and it has been slow going.

Loston is slated to start as a RS Jr and has already flashed his abilities, so he's got plenty of time.

Christ, if you hate the guy so much you would think you could spell his name right.

I'll go with Chris Davenport or Al Woods career-wise. We'll see what Shep does this year with a QB who can throw the ball.
