Would you sue Goddell & the NFL, for Discrimination from not even looking into the Packers 2007 rumors. League should never be able to take draft picks. The NFL is & was the number 1 sport before Goodell, I believe HE is bad for the league.

Season ticket holders can sue the NFL, Roger Goodell, and the Saints for paying for a different product than was promised them. I am going to try to find the link where I was reading that.

And you'd be laughed out of court.

Just take the punishment and move on with your lives.

It was a little excessive, yes, but dragging it out won't help.

Do you have skin in the game? If your not a season ticket holder you should probably move along,

I've had skin in what everyone else tells me is a similar game.

I'm also allowed an opinion, just like everyone else.

OK how about this one?

NFL... Partial anti-trust exemption lets them have a multi-network TV deal... Fans watch TV... Goodell affects product on public airwaves.... Class action suit for damages.

Any shyster worth his ambulance should be able to work from there.

That exemption is the NFLs achilles heel. Someday somebody is going to figure a way to exploit it.

I am a season ticket holder and i called my lawyer friend (who I sit next to at the games). I straight up asked him what we could do as fans and he told me "not much" The only case we could take up is one with the Saints organization and even that would be a major uphill battle. Though he did say he must have gotten 15-20 calls from other fans inquiring about what legal action could be taken. So I imagine somebody will sue somebody over this, not sure it's a smart idea though

There is potential here.

Can of worms...Goodell may have opened it.

From another board.

Not a class action lawsuit...

Have everyone and their second cousin sue Goodell individually in small claims for maximum allowable - such as "I built my man-cave to enjoy Payton-led Saints Football this season but now I'm out expenses for the new fridge, beer tap, and the Hooters Girls appearance fees totalling $3,100usd; Goodell can't send proxy legal representation and he must make an appearance or risk losing by default...

He'll be in court until 2112...

The frick you will. Again you show your arse by not knowing what you are talking about. How about gaining some knowledge before commenting on something you know nothing about.

It is so funny that you are posting in every thread on this board since this happened. Shows how jelly you are ...

This might work, but will likely never happen. People are too lazy or busy to deal with this. A class action is much more effective were a small group of lawyers are working or a large group of people.

Depends where the court is. Not in New Orleans.

This could be interesting. I think it will depend on how many players get suspended and for how long. But still, the exemption has to do with broadcasting he games more than the product we see.

I'm nothing anywhere close to a lawyer but here is how I see the facts.

* The season ticket holders purchased a product from the New Orleans Saints on good faith that it will be delivered.
* The Saints INTENDED on delivering until a third party, the National Football League -one man at that- decided to intervene.
* The fans should not be penalized PERIOD for issues between the other two parties.
* It's different than the New Orleans Saints fielding a horrible team, because a third party intervened between our agreement.
* The team is not competitive this year thanks to the NFL, not the Saints for failure to deliver. But where do you draw the line of competitive/uncompetitive? That's the gray area.

If there was a way to determine the gray area that this team has been crippled beyond a reasonable product, then why can't the fans receive some sort of discount/refund? That $500,000 fine to the league would be a start, but obviously the cost would be in the millions.
