I would like to see the Saints win multiple Superbowls, not just one.
This doesn't help.

If they're not related, then why even bring it up?

All I am saying is what I have said many times -- I would gladly take 5 straight 0-16 seasons in exchange for the Lombardi.
I lived throguh 30+ years of the Aints. I never dared dream we would make it to a SB -- much less win one.
I admit it. That Lombardi Trophy helps soften the blow. If Favre had completed that pass or if the Colts had recovered the onside kick... I might be going postal now.

Frick yes it was worth it.

Without a doubt it was worth it. I have nieces and nephews who only know the Saints as winners. They didn't grow up like me being conditioned from birth to accept the fact that the Saints will never win a SB.
It's unreal we won a frickin SUPER BOWL!

I think going to a franchise first ever super bowl was a bigger motivator.

Prob about as much as playing win an NFC champ game after a 13-3 season for an amazing fanbase in one of the best stadiums in the NFL in order to head to a franchise first Superbowl against Brett Farve, an NFL icon and legend, that defenses drool for a shot at.

Nothing we did having to do with any of this helped us get the ring.
Please tell me you aren't serious? After injuring Favre on a dirty hit which drew a fine, Farve could hardly walk. Despite that, he led the Vikings into overtime. Without the bounty on Farve, the Vikings win that game easily.

I would say yes according to the picture that is painted of gruesome acts of maiming and dismemberment(sarcasm)....but...Football players are paid to beat the shite out of each other. So, since they slack off once they get guaranteed contracts, extra cash on top is needed to get them off their arse and perform to the standards they should be playing at in the first place.

You're a giant fricking tool if you believe they weren't going after Favre bounties or no bounties. And the Vikings were coming after Brees too, so this shite is fricking ridiculous. It's the defenses job to get to the QB, and yes hurt him.

You make it sound like the bounty system had something to do with us winning the superbowl.
In that case it was worth speeding in that 35 earlier so that I could enjoy watching tv right now.

Dirty hits never happen in the nfl, we paid for em, true story. You are an idiot. Our defense wouldn't have ever tried to hit fave if we didn't offer them a few thousand. The saints rode that injury train all the way to the superbowl and won it, while leaving a path of bodies in their wake. The giants targeting guys with concussions is completely a seperate unrelated issue.
Please; you sound like you have never watched nfl football but are coming out of the woodwork to comment on this situation. Are you a mom?

yep, having the championship is priceless

You know what, scratch what I said. It use to be the job of the defense to get to the QB. Now, in Goodell's NFL, it's their job to give the QB a slight sense of anxiety.
