When Andrew kicked Grant off the yacht in Overboard. I figured he would try to get even with Johanna. I was blown away.

I was trying to tell someone the other day what a mindfark Jacob's Ladder was without ruining it for them-which I won't do here either-but that was a big time curve.

Jacob's Ladder and Raising Cain were both pretty out of nowhere with the story.

Top picks are Angel Heart and No Way Out.

It's one of the obvious ones, but the ending of Se7en blew me away. It was a pleasant suprise because I'm partial to films that don't have a happy Hollywood ending.

Other films that come to mind are House of Games and Match Point, I didn't see the ending of Shawshank or The Sixth Sense coming either.

I guess my biggest swing and a miss would be A Perfect Storm. I hadn't heard anything about it or read the book, so when they all went down I was completely surprised.
Honorable mention to Leo getting his head blown off in The Departed.
