Hope this hasn't already been posted. Also, not trolling. I actually thought this was a good video/read.

Sounds like the penalties are going to come from the disregard/shrug off from Loomis/Williams/Payton vs. the actual "crime".

Yeah, I mean the theme of our punishment is either gonna be anti-violence or vindictiveness.
Take your pick.
Take your pick.

Roger Goddell: Judge, Jury, and Executioner!
This really pisses me off! With so many guys coming into the NFL that have been thugs and kicked out of colleges, this is what Goddell is worried about. Saints players for the most part, stay out of trouble and do not act like thugs during the offseason. So instead of punishing players that do, (like he did when he first assummed the office), he is villanizing saints players and coaches for playing hard like the game is meant to be played

I mean, come on. What do you want him to do? Have a press conference and say "Oh, we don't give a shite about player safety at all. The Saints organization can have bounties all they want!" I'm not saying I think the penalties should be severe as being predicted, but the NFL has to do something to save face.

ESPN's take
Is that ESPN's take or Ashley Fox's take?

With so many players coming out and saying this is rampant throughout the league, my opinion would be that Goodell should just issue a cease and desist to everyone. Let it be known that any evidence showing that a team is doing it during the '12 season or beyond will result in severe penalties. Establish a minimum game suspension for players/coaches along with fines that is published, much like the mlb/steroid issue. But I don't think the taints should have to be made an example of when it is so prevalent.

Well, little bit of both. The article was Ashley Fox but the video snippet was a ESPN roundtable which had Mike Golic and another NFL'er that I'm forgetting all of a sudden...

Mike Golic was actually talking sense on M&M this morning (you can DL a podcast at ESPN.com)

This is why women need to stay out of football reporting.

good form. but just so you know if this were to happen to the failcons I would want the book thrown at them. I laughed for days at the Vick/dog fighting thing.

quote:while i do despise the failcons more than the nazis, i wouldnt want the book thrown at them for something stupid like this. the saints played within the rules of the game no one was injured on a dirty play by the saints and besides the retarded roman harper endzone hit it dont remember saints being fined for dirty hits. this is horseshite and the rat should be castrated

so Ashley Fox, Mike Golic, and 1 other "NFL'er" compromises ESPN now?
