Ever bought a FEMA trailer?

Need a small camp for our lease and we're thinking a travel trailer is the way to go. I've looked online and can't really find much info. How much do they typically run? Any way to get one besides an auction? Any advice?
TIA
TIA

Most of the ones I've seen are in pretty rough shape and the auctions want too much for them. Keep ya eyes on classified ads and stuff and you can usually run up on a helluva deal. Plus it'll be a lot nicer than a FEMA trailer

Have been looking for one for same reason lately. Most of the ones I have seen for sale by private party are f#%&ed up and over priced. Check out www.hendersonauctions.com think you could expect to pay between $2000 - $2500 for the base model in good shape, maybe never used.

Most of them are crap, but every once in a while you can run across a deal. You just have to keep an eye open and be patient.

There have been multiple class action lawsuits related to FEMA trailers and high levels of Formaldehyde.
Not saying they are legitimate or illegitimate - just stating facts for consideration.

Problem was they stuck them out there straightnout of the factory. Of course that smell would bother you.
Henderson sells good.ones. remember they have no holding tanks - plain white ones. The.ones with the bottom pin stripe had them. They go several hundred fmore
Saw some reql good deals at an auction last year. 4000 for.fancier name brands, 28-30 foot.trailers.

I bought a standard size(can't remember the length) a few years ago for one of my employees. It was never lived in. Paid $3500 at a place in Bastrop.
I went to a few auctions, and they were going for 5k and up for the same thing at the time.
Had a few electrical issues at first, but it has been a good unit.

I had to go thru about 15 before I found a good one that didn't have any problems or leaks. Paid $3200 ans it is used as a camp. The one I have is 40'.

I bought a 32' model from a friend and paid $2300. The formaldahyde deal was just a BS story dreamed up by lawyers. Your house has more in it than a FEMA trailer. Any FEMA trailer you find will have some issues. Mine had one soft spot on the floor. You need to check the floors and walls real good for soft spots. They aren't hard to repair, but its very common. The roof needs to be resealed every 6 months and most of them were never done so that is where your leaking water comes from. Reseal it as soon as you get it and I'd build a cover over it. We knocked out the wall between the living room and front bedroom and turned the bed 90 degrees and it really open the room up a bunch. Not hard to do and only took a couple of hours. We also tore out the couch and replaced it with a fouton that was more comfortable and gave another bed. You can also replace the water heater with a tankless model and that is a big improvement over the 10 gallon tank that comes in the trailer.

Thanks for the info. I think it's all we need for a camp.

There's a place on 190 just outside of Port Barre that has a shitload for sale. I mean acres and acres of them.

I bought one from Henderson Auctions that was brand new, gonna use it for a camp. If you find one you like, be damm sure to look it over from frony to back, there are some crap ones out there so be careful.

my uncle has one he uses for a deer camp. Its a wheel chair/handicapped version so its wider and more wide open. I wish I could find one just like it
