I want to, but I usually end up saying 'fuggit' and waiting a few days.

the one thing that really worries me about the movie is the running time. 100 minutes? seriously!? i have a feeling half the movie will be spent in the capitol

The concept behind this book/movie is pretty awesome, but this is going to turn into another twilight series so fast

They aren't chick books. There's something for everyone in The Hunger Games trilogy. Girls swoon over the two main male characters but there really isn't any romance in the books at all. If anything, the so-called "love triangle" is on the back-burner for the entire trilogy. It's present, but it doesn't dominate the books the way it did in Twilight.

I bought tickets at one of those fancy movie theaters that serve you alcohol and give you blankets and pillows to enjoy in your plush leather recliner. They don't let teenagers in after a certain time at night. Place has a really nice restaurant and bar in theater as well.

Meh, the teeny romance was pretty heavy handed towards the end of the first book.

I'm an avid reader. What is the series actually about. Need something to read. Just finished A SONG OF FIRE AND ICE aka Game of thrones

Isn't this series like Battle Royale? And is this movie going to be a very watered-down version of Battle Royale?

I think I will wait to see it, but am curious as to what it is about.

Not saying this is you BUT, the majority of the people that say similar to what you said have never even read Battle Royale, or heard of it for that matter until Collins did her books. I've met some people that use it as an excuse to not read the series or to disiss it, without ever reading either
The similarity ends at kids fighting to the death.
Hell, you can stretch a mile and compare it to RUnning Man, Surviving the Game, Tron...etc etc etc

Isn't this movie going to have a pg-13 rating? They would have to cut a lot out the book to get it there.

I am so excited about this. LOVED the books.

However, I think I will wait a bit to see it so I don't have to sit in a theater filled with Twi-hard-esque fangirls.
