I honestly don't know how he read what he quoted from the movie summary (if thats where it was from) and still thinks his original comment makes any sense

Baseball is much different than basketball. The players are far more independent in baseball than basketball, therefore the statistics can be VERY skewed in different situations and different schemes.

It has nothing to do with Moneyball. The Knicks most valuable player was an expensive free agent signing during the off-season (Tyson Chandler).
