I heard Maineri had the team try out several bats during the fall and went with what his players liked the most. Demarini.

With the new bbcor standard, there is not a great deal of difference in the bats

Marucci Cat 5 in the 33 inch model have been banned by the NCAA. Their exit speeds were too high.

Yeah...except bats change yearly and the Easton Power Brigade is the hottest this year supposedly. Still, the CF5 is hot and the Voodoo has a skull on it so it must be hot right?

You really think Maneri switched bats because the players liked 'em? Think Oregon would switch to under armor if the players preferred them?

I heard Maneri wanted $400K and Easton was only offering $150-200K.

I was not given any figures, but I heard the same thing. The decision was made by Mainieri, not by the players, and it was about the $. This is just the way things work it seems.
