Randazzo's was rated the best by the TP, but that's one opinion. They're good but my favorite was always Mckenzie's. frick all the icing, filling, and shite, I like straight bread and sugar.

I like Randazzo's. Here in BR, Thee Heavenly Donut makes a damn fine king cake. So does Calandro's.

BS. You must have to drink a gallon of water to swallow that kind of cake.
I like Haydel's cream cheese filled.

I had some from Diane's King Cakes that I thought was pretty good.

Dong Phuong Vietnamese bakery on Chef in NOLA East is the best value for the money IMO (and delicious). Randazzo's (in Slidell) seems overpriced and the icing is too overwhelming for my taste.

Take away doughnuts in boutte. Followed closely by rob's doughnuts in uptown Thibodaux.

Not at all, if baked right it isn't dry at all. I remember getting these at school all the time b/c they were so big, I don't even know where to find king cakes like that anymore.

Thibodaux has an uptown now?

Tastee Donuts has the old McKenzie's recipe. I had one (with the icing) this week.
