anyone who thinks lin won't gel with carmelo is crazy, i think lin would actually benefit from carmelo.

Melo dribbles way too much, has the ball in his hands too much, not going to end well.

This.

And, they both really like each other. Carmelo was the one who went to D'Antoni and told him to put Lin in the game, in what would eventually turn out to be his first break out game against the Nets.

Carmelo has shown that he can be a team player at times, especially on the US National Team. He's best as a catch and shoot player on offense in my opinion and Lin gives him the opportunity to get some open 15-18 foot looks.

Melo's played with Andre Miller and Chauncey, PGs who generally operate with the ball (though Miller prob a bit more). he thrived with those guys, he'll be ok with Lin.

NEW YORK—Tired of the incessant Jeremy Lin puns and jealous of the attention lavished upon the Knicks breakout performer, injured Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has begun anonymously sending Carmelo Anthony puns to various New York media outlets in hopes of drawing attention back to himself.

“When he gets back your headline should read ‘Melo out guys! Anthony is back,’” suggested Anthony in an email to the New York Post. “Or maybe ‘Thank the MELOrd, HE'S BACK!’” Anthony also logged on to numerous Knicks blogs and posted in the comments sections, urging fans to make signs that included such Carmelo related pun as “I used to be a Nets fan 'til I took a Melo to the Antho-knee” and “Locked. MELOaded. And ready to fire!”

Anthony even suggested, “We really missed you Carmelo and are so happy you’re back because you’re the greatest ever,” which he admitted was a bit wordy and not even a pun, but a good option nonetheless.
