I get the feeling from some corners of the LSU specific websites out there...

that Les Miles & the staff/company line is that he was disrespected by some coaches in-state as far as recruiting is concerned. That he's sort've offended by this. That the mantra is that you are either for us or against us.

I know one purveryor of website-related intel of the LSU variety that is not only hypothesizing this, but at the same time, indicating that the fans played a role in the likes of National Signing Day disappointments of Denzell Devall, Landon Collins, & Torshiro Davis.

In other words, from many circles, I see the fingers pointing towards HS Coaches. To the limitations of personnel. To high school coaches betraying us on the recruiting trails. To the very fans in the stands.

I see no introspection. I see no real moves to replace dead weight on the staff beyond a guy that took a promotion.

I don't see a lot of accountability amongst the members of the staff. Whether its for play on the field, personnel decisions regarding who got onto it, schemes that were devised for the kids to execute once they were on it, and quite honestly, the work put in to reel the next class of Tigers onto the suddenly green grass of Tiger Stadium.

I see many fingers from within...and they all seem to be pointing somewhere outside the walls of the Football Operations Center near the Ponderosa.

There's an old silly saying that our former Head Basketball Coach used to invoke about finger pointing and those that partake in it. Something about them never realizing that in doing so, three more end up pointing right back at you. I digress.

Spring Football will be interesting to see just how much of a shift we see in terms of our philosophy. Will it be a tectonic one, or will it be one in name only?

Can't wait...

your writing is almost as arcane as Miles' speaking.

Just to be clear, you propose 'shaking up' a SEC Championship staff and program.

All for a few recruits, two of which were not EVER going to LSU.

Torshiro Davis has you thinking we need to rework the whole damn thing.

Benny Saia at Dutchtown had nothing to do with where Landon Collins ended up. First of all, it's not the high school coach's postion to push a player to any school. That is a life decision that needs to be made by a player and his family, and only if they ask for the coach's advice should it be given. Now as for the coach at Woodlawn-Shreveport that reportedly swayed Toshiro Davis to Texas, he's an arse clown and if it goes bad in Austin, he should be blamed for the results.

Yep, Patriot fans suck, too. They were blaming Belicheck, Brady, and Welker for "blowing" the Super Bowl.

So you're saying you gathered your information from LSU websites and you don't see anything going on with the inner workings of the LSU staff.

Perfect basis to criticize the coaching staff.

I agree with the substance of the original post. Moreover, waging war with Louisiana high school coaches has historically been very counterproductive for the LSU football program. Even apparent victories are pyrrhic, since they result in the alienation of individuals who have tremendous influence over marquee in-state recruits.

Strawman. Very weak.

It's going to be a run based offense with the ability to throw the football downfield successfully. We'll throw it more than the last few years, but we will not throw it more than we run it.

It's not going to be an entirely different offense. Expecting different would say more about you than it does about the coaching staff.

Miles is the most successful coach in LSU history. Period. He is not perfect. I really, really wish he would let his offensive coordinators do their thing. I would rather Krags call the plays than Miles. That's one thing he can improve upon. The recruiting class was fine. It met the team's needs. And, I DO think that there are some (I don't know who, or how many, but "some") Louisiana high school coaches who enjoy feeling like they're a confidante or whatever of Saban's; in other words, he strokes their ego's and plays them for the buffoons they are.
