Notre Dame will not compete for the Big 12 conference title in football. They will play around five Big 12 games every year, and still get to play their traditional rivalry games. In every other sport, they will compete for the Big 12 title.

Notre Dame would still get to keep their own TV deal for football games.

horseshite.

The only way that should stand is that, when the NBC contract expires, they join the Big 12 contract.

ND is not in a particularly good position to negotiate, given that the Big Ten is moving on without them and that all of their traditional partners are going to have a LOT of obligations each season.

Service academies joining the expanded Big East for football eliminates a lot of their scheduling flexibility IMHO.

Without the service academies, ND will still get to play USC, Stanford, Michigan, Michigan State and maybe Purdue.

ND will always have plenty of scheduling options.

B1G would gladly accept ND, dont be silly. also, the only two opponents on our schedule who are not expendable our Navy and USC. everyone else, even michigan, is not a "traditional rivalry"...we just happen to play them all the time.

both parties (UM and ND) have been rumored to be taking a break from the series for quite sometime.
