Physicals in the professional sports are funny. If the teams wants/needs the player they pass. If a team needs a creative way out of a contract or bonus due to a player on their roster or player considered loose change in a trade, instantly the physical becomes much more stringent.
Hopefully this isn't Colts avenue in trying to separate themselves from Manning. Manning is the Colts.

Exactly! Everyone will understand if you want to cut him; potential injury risk, huge bonus coming up, age, having the #1 pick.
The last thing they need to do is make themselves look petty in the situation when it isn't necessary.

True, if they go this route it will be one of the shittiest and classless moves in sports management history.
I think all parties involved know where this is going and no one can really blame the Colts for doing whats best for the franchises financial future. Just be upfront and release/cut Manning and be done with it.

I really wouldn't read to much into this.

As a diehard Colts fan this is sad and confusing times. Peyton might be the most beloved player by a fan base in sports history so Colts Nation is sad as hell as it appears by all means his days in Indy are over....on the other hand we have the new "cool kid" on the block that everyone says is going to be great....It's a worse case scenario to a best case scenario.

However Colts fans feel about Peyton it aint even close to how Saints fans feel about Brees

We'll call it a tie..lol..Brees has been a savoir to your guys state and the New Orleans area...Love my Boiler Brees!

I don't know about that. Indy was pretty shitty before PM came along. He is that franchise.
I'd say it probably pretty similar.
As an aside, while I hate all things Manning, it is sad to see it end this way. No doubt the guy was (and may someday yet be again) a fantastic QB.

I think it's more of Isray trying to save face with the fans when the time comes. You have Mannings camp spreading the word to other teams that he's healthy then Isray turns around and says not by Colts standards. This was Isray can say fans we released him because he wasn't healthy.

It would be really funny if he got on another team and was his oldself.

The Saints are like Drew's 2nd marriage. It may be the better fit than the first but Peyton and the Colts and like high school sweethearts that got married young, had beautiful kids, and lived in the house with the nice wooden picket fence for many years.

Pretty shitty? They were a dropped hail mary away from the super bowl like 3 years before they drafted PM and they had Faulk starting to come to his potential.
