No, the ignorance is you not understanding what I am getting at. Miles bashing on an 18 yr old kid for changing his mind does not look good at all to national recruiting. I understand the frustration Miles has, as do I, but he should have kept it to himself. Yes, Kiel was a wuss for supposively changing his mind due to his mother, but think about this: Sitting in BR after the NC game with all the negativity going on around campus and the city MAINLY due to the fact that people are dumfounded as to why the HEAD COACH was so ignorant and/or stubborn to devise a half way descent offensive game plan, and not play another QB to give us a fighting shot to at least be competitive, or at least try. Kiel saw the "giving up" that Miles portrayed in the game.

You are simply proving my point. Thank you.

Nick Saban pulling the offer from a kid literally as he goes to sign the NLI "does not look good at all to national recruiting"

Nor does a head coach ripping the arse off his 2nd string QB because he throws an ill advised INT in the endzone late in a game where his team is leading by a huge margin... that'd be little Nicky too, in case you were wondering.

... and still - doesn't seem to have impacted recruiting ability at that school.

You are seriously over dramatizing this "ripping of G. Kiel" thing here man... just way blowing this out of proportion.

If youre a man and you dont like the way the program is going then you call the coaches 2-3 days after the game tell them sorry Im not coming. As much as I disagree with changing your commitment so many times that a workable issue. Not letting anyone know whats going on till after you missed a meeting and the school let a kid go because of you...thats something else. No one cares about his reasoning. Whatever his reason was Im sure was one that made sense. However there isnt really an excuse for waiting till the last day. As for this

if Im a recruit and Les wants me then I say well I must have "the chest" that it takes to be a leader. If I dont go to LSU well then frankly I dont care what Les thinks. This comment would be the last thing on my mind when I decided for or against LSU. Quit crying. Im beginning to think you dont have any chest

Yeah at least Kiel went to ND. Brian Kelly will never tell him he did anything wrong and never call him out on anything because BK is such a touchy feely guy

And with all due respect, what program needs sphincter fans like you?

That was a compliment to Coach Miles.

There's so much irony here. People are concerned about Miles ripping a kid and how that will be taken. Yet that very kid spurned us for ND and Chip Kelly. That kid has no idea what "ripping" is yet. Seriously.

Then I owe you an apology, I guess? I thought it was in some way related to my immediately preceding comment,

I have been a Miles fan and defended him since the first year.

Just look at my posts and you will see I'm a Posi-Tiger.

Miles was talking up his guy.

When you spend ALOT of time telling a chick how pretty she is, she probably isnt, same thing.\

Liggins may turn out to be a great fit and leader, but Keil was going to the cornerstone of this class.

Miles' did not rip Kiel....he truthfully stated that the kid did not have the "chest", ie, heart to cut the cord and strike out on his own. no biggie....what does suck is that his indecision cost us a very talented olineman. did espn report that? yeah....right.

As classy as everybody says Miles is (and he takes the high road consistently) this was not a classy move by Les at all. I realize he was likely joking but it's best when you are a coach not to take personal shots at players.

Maybe he was talking about Gunners brother that just quit on his team. Seems to run in the family uh. Miles never mentioned Gunners name did he.

I know he who he was talking about so save it.

How can you say what he did was wrong? Who is holding these kids accountable: The NCAA, coaches, parents, themselves? The answer is - no one. I'm sorry, say what you will, but it is kind of refreshing to see an adult scorn a kid for being an idiot. Where did these kids miss the basic lessons? "Don't lie" is usually one people are taught at a young age. This all comes down to accountability. No one holds these 17-18 year old kids (or their parents) accountable for things they do or say. As big of a family man as Miles seems to be, you can understand his frustration. Don't know if you saw Herbstreit's commentary on the spectacle that recruiting has become but he echoed my sentiments exactly. It is ironic that Miles gets blasted for making an honest comment, meanwhile there is nothing on Saban yanking a scholarship on NSD. The moral center is so skewed in CFB
