Taking a QB in this class means that JR is switching positions or a QB is leaving right?

He said he wanted to be a shot-gun QB and if can't pass, then be a big running QB in the tradition of our running backs offense.

What the hell does that even mean?

If he can't throw a football, he still wants to be a QB, but just run with the ball instead?

Simmons seems like he is the only guy that EVER gives LSU and Louisiana any due to their scouting. He did it on Rivals and he is doing it for 247.
I think Sonny and Steve Robertson do an excellent job of scouting Louisiana. They just don't have the ear of the national guys at Scout.

Maybe he is the biased one?

Over the past decade, I believe our recruiting classes have received an average ranking of 6-8. I don't believe that LA recruits have been unfairly evaluated. I just believe that is the perception on this board due to an understandable fan bias, and then we reinforce these ideas over and over in these threads until they are considered facts.

"ESPN hates LSU"
"Rivals hates LSU"
"Scout hates LSU"

This class seems pretty fairly evaluated, in my admittedly ignorant opinion. I'm sure if you take a poll of every team's fanbase, most will agree that their recruits are better than advertised.

Just my opinion.

No. Considering Liggins' weight he's a guaranteed redshirt.

I seeing Twitter reports from Ole Miss writers that Liggins is committing to LSU 96.3 radio update on Liggins. Matt Wyatt on Sports Talk Radio and former Ms.St. QB, just said Liggins is going to LSU. The story is, Liggins said he grew up in Ms. and was tired of it and wanted to go out of state. He got mad at LSU on the official visit when he did not get a full scholarship offer that week-end. Then when Gunner Kiel didn't come, a QB scholarship became available. ONLY within the last 2 or 3 days, LSU came back and offered a full scholly and he accepted. He said he wanted to be a shot-gun QB and if can't pass, then be a big running QB in the tradition of our running backs offense. That's the story they are saying on the radio now at 4:30. We'll see [or hear] at 6:30. I'll let this site know at 6:30.

Anyone want to post a link to the site where we can hear the commitment? People keep saying different radio stations but does anyone have a link to the correct one.

I hope for our sakes, this is not true. I don't know if I can watch a offense run 90% of the time anymore...

I hope its true.. if he can run a 4.7 at 290 he would have potential to be a top 5 DE in this class .. I think he is a decent qb but I want him at DE

Except when we play good defenses like Bama who are built for the power game and run...

No. I don't think it means that at all.

LSU may have only recently bumped him to a full offer, but Gunner was gone before Liggins took his OV.

No, stop trying to switch JRs position every time we gain/lose a player.

Not saying he's not large.

Just saying that he's not a fatty.

He gained weight last summer and then lost 25-30 lbs. before the season started. I would think he'll be put on a program to try to stay at a certain weight instead of going through the "let himself go and then work it off" cycle every year.

Staying in shape would show he is serious about playing quarterback.

If he's that big and he moves to defense, it will be DT. I doubt we see anymore Tyson Jackson-sized DE as long as Chavis is around.

Has he ever played DE? There's a lot more to it than a 40 time. Considering all the DE's who comes out of LA I don't know why anybody would want him there over the many DE's from LA we already turned down.
