Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash for a more serious show, but it can be comedic, and has some lighter moments. My favorite anime ever.
My Hero Academia. for one like One Punch Man
Food Wars. (surprisingly awesome)
Is it wrong to pick up Girls in a Dungeon. Lighthearted and fun fantasy action.
Hunter X Hunter. Starts off slow, looks like a kid anime for a bit, then gets very adult friendly very quickly. Fantastic show.
Overlord. action fantasy
Rage of Bahamut.
Tokyo Ghoul(frick this show, I love it, but frick it) It's really well done, and a fantastic show. Just a tough watch in spots.

Such a great list right there plus saw a lot of other anime series I watched and liked being mentioned afterwards, I won't repeat them.
Will definitely note down the other recommendations.
However I am surprised not to have seen
'Assassination Classroom' talked about anywhere here - anyone watched it?
What about 'Heavy Object'?
I don't know if anyone would agree but I would also count 'Saint Seiya' as one of the classics - I haven't watched all the newer series though ('Lost Canvas' - just bits and pieces and Soul of Gold etc...).

Started watching that Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress last night. I'm pretty impressed with it so far. I think the animation is really good. Unfortunately only like 9 episodes though.

Watched up to the current episode of Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- over the past few days. It's really good kind of reminiscent of All You Need is Kill/Edge of Tomorrow with a fantasy setting. It has one of the better MCs of any recent series that I've watched.

I don't know if it's been mentioned here or not, but I just watched the first season of aldnoah.zero. Pretty good mech anime with some of the political aspects of code geass.

I don't know how much any of you are into manga, but animes like Deadman wonderland are not complete. The anime only covers the first 21 chapters. There is about 30 more chapters to the story. You can find different places online to read it.
Lots of anime based on manga get made and finished before the original stories are complete. In most, but not all, the anime versions of the story are inferior.
The only way around it for longer series is to include filler episodes.

Just finished both seasons of aldnoah.zero, and surprised it hasn't been mentioned here. Turned out to be pretty good.

It's in my crunchyroll Queue, but for some reason I just keep putting it off. At the rate I watch shows, it will get watched fairly soon though.

Just started My Hero Academia and I enjoy the battle he has so far with using his power and crippling himself or trying to use his normal abilities.

That's a really fun show, especially after it really starts introducing his classmates, their powers, and their personalities. I've really enjoyed it so far.

Are you caught up on Berserk?
New episode of the manga just came out. Should be translated in a couple days.

Pretty exciting time to be a Berserk fan right now. New anime in about a week, new game later this year and the manga starting back on a regular/monthly pace.
From what I've seen of the new episode, it looks like things are starting to pick up pace and a lot of questions could get answered soon. Very exciting since for 10 years, the entire time I've known about Berserk, the group has been headed to Elfhelm with the majority of the time being spent on that damn boat
