Saw a reference to a new show called Overlord that has a similar premise to SAO and Log Horizon. However, I can't find it anywhere. Does the Scruffy have any knowledge of the aforementioned show?

It sounds interesting.

Dammit, I don't think I can convince my wife to let us get HULU. Gonna have to figure out how to find it....elsewhere.

You can do a free run on Hulu.

Not sure. I think you can watch it free on the computer, but it only allows a few of the episodes or something.

I'll watch it tonight and let you know what you are missing.

Overlord starts off pretty slow and might turn off some people but the last few episodes that have come out have been pretty enjoyable. Arslan Senki has been my favorite anime out by far right now.

Checking out Arslen Senki. I'll give it a shot, but right off the bat, I hate the animation style. Gate does it right. It all looks drawn. I cannot stand the 3-d models anime is using now. It looks so damn bad.

It just looks so fricking awful. I've quit watching some shows with decent plots over this crap.
Like I said about Gate, even something as large as the dragon wasn't drawn using that computer rendered 3d shite. Attack on Titan did it right too.
All anime should be done that way.

I just saw the thread so I don't plan to look through 70+ pages but I'm a big Ken Akamastu fan. I've got the entire run on Love Hina and most of A.I. Love You/Negima!
So on that note, my favorites are Mayo Chiki, Tenchi Muyo, Sora No Otoshimono, Kanokon, and Inukami!
In high school I went from comics to anime. My collection got pretty good with a mixture of manga, VHS, DVDs, and books. I have 145 pieces total, with 10 of those being complete series. I even have a promotional VHS of Ranma 1/2. I laugh because every five minutes "NOT FOR SALE! PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY!" scrolls across the screen. Dunno why it is promotional, I know what the guy told me, but I've never been able to confirm.

Cool. Welcome. This thread isn't bumped that often, but don't hesitate to post in it. Usually a pretty good discussion or two happens.
Never seen any of those shows. Not sure if they are my cup of tea. I tend toward the more violent/action stuff.

I'm tempted to post that picture a second time. That's how much I agree with you. Remember when I asked you for suggestions, and said I only wanted to watch shows that look like AoT or SAO? That version of hand drawn style is so perfect.
Have you tried Rokka-Braves of the Six Flowers? Hand drawn style similar to the other shows we have talked about. Though, they do use computer animation on the bad guys. Plot makes up for that.

Welcome to the thread. I would say welcome to the anime addiction, but clearly, you already have it worse than me.

I haven't been adding anime as much now that I've gotten back into American comics. I had some really good manga apps on my old phone but the one now doesn't have enough memory.
My taste is more comedy/harem. There have been a few outliers in Inuyasha, Akira (who doesn't love Akira?), DBZ, Trigun, etc. Mostly the popular stuff. I'm willing to go outside my comfort if everyone I know vouches for it. But I won't try it myself when I am cruising netflix and hulu.

I tend to like similar stuff as what Scruffy described.
SAO, AOT, DBZ, GATE, Akame Ga Kill, Log Horizon, Rokka-Braves of the Six Flowers....etc.
Edit: Just started a new show that is pretty dadgum good so far. God Eater. It is computer animated, but they put a lot of money into it. Animation actually looks good.

I was watching Rage of Bahamut: Genesis last night. Animation is great. Not too sure how good the story will end up being, but has good action.
