What all-time classic movies if any would be unthinkable to attempt a remake?

Was just thinking that with the continuing trend in remakes in the movie business that over the next decade it appears nothing will be sacred from remake attempts.
I would have a hard time wrapping my head around a remake of Star Wars trilogy 4-6
Thoughts

Scarface
Scarface is a remake of Howard Hawks 1932 pre code gangster classic staring Paul Muni. Which is the better film btw.

ETA: more of a re-imagination and ripoff than a remake actually.

Gone With The Wind would be unwise for sentimental reasons and impossible for PC reasons.

First thing that came to mind.

Fail.
Not only is it a remake, and they are currently in pre-preduction on a remake, the film is not considered an all-time classic. It was a bit of a failure at the time and achieved cult classic status because it's connection with rap culture.
But seriously:
The Godfather
Gone With the Wind
Star Wars
Citizen Kane
ET
Schindlers List
Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Etc

Well shows how much of a movie buff I am.

There are like 500 classic movies I would be pissed if they remade them. Like 490 of them will probably be remade.

Blazing Saddles was my first thought.

Blazing Saddles is a good one.
Also
Apocalypse Now (I realize the Heart of Darkness connections)
Anything from Kubrick that's not The Shining.

Yeah something like that, though I'm not inherently against remakes if they're done right.

ET is going to be remade. Book it. Good sci if flicks and horror movies from the 80s and before always do

Schindler's List is a good answer.

I could easily see the Godfather being remade somewhere down the road.
