It still was within reach and he thought Jefferson gave him a better opportunity
Well, that means that Les is either:
A) stupid
B) a liar
Neither are good.

Quite the opposite. You are like the fat kid in love with the beauty queen, she can do no wrong. It's an unhealthy obsession. Miles is my favorite coach and I prefer him over anyone, but his obsession with JJ led to the problems you saw, and was years in the making. He deserves the criticism.
The man isn't paid 4 mill. to have some knights protecting him at all cost. he is paid 4 mill. because it's one hell of a high pressure job where every decision can be critical.

sorry...i don't see race or sexual orientation.

That's your fail clown.

.Miles is still the greatest coach in LSU history. deal with it
Saban is the greatest coach LSU has ever had, FACT. the man has 3 NCs

He did say that with the benefit of hindsight he would have played Lee
Don't really know what else he can say about it

Spot on post Roger but do you really believe one JJ obsessed poster (Choctaw) could ever see any wrong in a JJ obsessed coach??????

He's paid 4 mil a year to make the decisions in real time...not after the fact.

He's basically using the "you can't read my mind so I'm going to continue to lie" defense.

Well it is what it is
He seems to have some regrets about the way he handled it
Time to move on

This gives Les a tiny bit of redemption.

If you can equate liars and people who basically slander to fat people, then yes.

Is it grades now? He and others have used so many hypothetical excuses in effort to avoid facing the reality that Miles is an imbecile that I lost track.
I think depression over a breakup was in there too.

I just read through this entire thread and a few things:
1. I am about to drink to filmaker45... You da man.
2. Miles did a good job at the presser...admitted mistakes, defended his poor decisions, gave us a little hope of what's to come next season with the air attack.
3. Simbo is either a douchey tool or a trolling sociopath but probably both.... I think he just needs to grow up a little bit along with many of the other unsatified haters.... IMHO.

Here's the problem Powerman. Everyone in here is arguing with each other like WE are the ones that matter.
WE are not the ones that matter. The kids he has to recruit and THEIR parents are the ones that matter and guess what, THOSE people probably have many similar reactions to those in here.
Hence, his failure to address the shite treatment with anything vaguely resembling and sensible answer will continue regardless of how bad fans would like to "move on".
If anyone in here that is bitching about guys like me thinks this subject isn't coming up and will CONTINUE to come up on the recruiting scene, they're crazy. Problem is, while negative recruiting normally is a "he said she said" phenomenon, in THIS case, the recruits AND their parents WITNESSED IT.

quote:What is the hell has happened to you? When you first came on this board, you were one of the most fully assembled assholes around. In the last couple of years you're just now your old self!! Anyway, that was an attempt at a backhanded complement, and I agree with your position.
1. In fairness, Jefferson's mobility put us in a position to win, so I understand sticking with him. Plus his point is valid - just one score and the game - even at the beginning of the fourth - is totally different. I don't agree with Lee not playing, but I don't think his view is irrational because I don't like it. 2. Re: Saban adjusting. In fairness, NO ONE saw McCarron having the game he did before that night. He adjusted because he trusted his QB more than Miles did his. I don't think Miles should be blamed for not trusting his QBs' ability.
