Have we gone OT?

I was surprised that GW didn't hold a meeting with his defense to tell them he was leaving. He just bolted without saying anything.
Apparently emotions are still raw for everyone after that colossal defensive break down.
Maybe in a season or two we can all appreciate GW for what he did while here.

What also drove me nuts during that game is that it was pretty obvious Smith only had one or 2 reads, and so much of the time his first read was so wide open it wasn't even an issue.
Actually Gregg's gameplan was really good the entire game until the 49ers final two drives where he then went blitz crazy.
He really did a good job of mixing his coverages & forcing Alex Smith to throw the ball underneath. Smith will never be the type of quarterback who will read a defense & make tight anticipation throws into coverage.
Williams took advantage of that by mostly playing coverage for 3 1/2 quarters while creatively picking & choosing his opportunities to blitz. By doing so, it made his blitzes even more effective.
But just like a dope fiend needing dope, Williams couldn't control his urge to blitz uncontrollably late in the 4th quarter when the situation called for him to play more mixed coverage schemes.

GW's scheme really needs a top flight safety like Sean Taylor or Darren Sharper (boy we could have used him in SF) to work.
