Granted, it is difficult to sign multiple QBs in a year, but I would think we'd look pretty appealing to recruits next year, if we don't take any this year.

As far as having talent gaps, let's say we don't sign one this year and sign one next year.

In 2013, we have:
Mettenberger (Sr)
Rivers (So)
Randall (So)

then either 1 or 2 QBs as true Freshman or a JUCO kid and 1 Freshman

I just don't think we need to panic. If it's too late to get someone elite, why take them?

There are some rumors that Randall may not stay at QB. Who knows truly how Rivers is progressing (we just don't know enough about him behind closed door practices). If Mettenberger got hurt, that doesn't leave much depth.

As others have mentioned, always nice to bring at least one in a year. Some will pan out, some won't. Give them a redshirt and allow them time to develop. The last thing we want is to throw a true freshman into the mix (look at Florida this year and their issues with depth and true freshmen).

Assuming Mett goes pro, you have two raw project qbs dueling to start. Rivers needed A TON of work apparently, and Randle is athletic and has a big arm, but is he developed?

We won't know til we see it. Looks what happened when Lee was thrust into action and wasn't ready.
