Akeem Olajuwon I had not seen a guy just block shots at will like he did at Coog High as a FR.

OR

Usain Bolt. I heard he was scary fast as a 200 but didn't know he was that fast in 100.

Janet Evans - 17 years old in the 1988 Olympics just shocked me. She blew everyone away, destroyed the competition (those PED East German women that looked like men) - what blew me away was Janet looked like the girl next door and not a super athlete. Shocked me.

Boris Becker - 1985 his first Wimbledon...at the time nobody could serve like that...first time I had ever seen world class players just backing away from the baseline and complaining - nobody could return his serve. It was crazy.

Dick Fosbury. When I first saw him go over the high jump bar backwards I thought it was an optical illusion.

Mike Bibby in the summer before we were in 8th grade so we were only 13. He was new to our travel team and it was the first time I saw him play so I didn't know what to expect. He was only 5"6 and I was already 6"4 and we were playing a game of 21 with another guy on our team that was 6"6 and Bibby got a long rebound off a free throw and drove and dunked ON both of us at the same time....I knew he was special after he did that!

Brandon Jacobs. I was a sophomore in high school, he was a senior. Granted I didn't play for a powerhouse, but he rushed for 387 yards and 6 tds.......in the first half. Was unfair he was the biggest and strongest guy on the field and could run as fast as most that night.

Travis Minor in high school. Opening kickoff he made everyone look like they were running underwater.

I took a trip to Holland back around 03 and saw Ajax play Man Utd. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was really young at the time and was noticeably different than any other player on the field.

Ryan Perrilloux in HS. He wasnt that impressive physically at first glance but he rushed for 150+ and threw for 300+ against us in HS like it was nothing

Probably the most surprised that I've ever been about a friendly result

Lionel Messi versus the USA U20 team in 2005. He was suspended for the first half. Came on in the 2nd and did nothing but pick the ball up, turn, and blow by people. Never would've expected it from his appearance. Would've been even more shocked had the announcer not raved about him at length.

Bo Jackson.

I was on the J-H sideline a lot 1982-85 and he was even more impressive up close.

Chris Jackson, playing in Lake Charles at the St. Louis tournament his senior year at Gulfport.
He put up 55 in the finals.
NBA 3s from everywhere, breakaway and alley-oop dunks. It was incredible.
The crowd was in awe.

Milton Bradley....I remember in the late 90s he was playing for a Minor league team for the Expos(?) organization near W. Palm Beach and I remember him just hitting the ball and looking like a man amongst boys this particular day. And I was just a young boy at the time Oh, and no temper tantrums from him

Calvin johnson...Although it was a practice and not a game (cue up AI), just seeing the sheer size and quickness of that man in person really stood out.

Tim Tebow...well
