48 pts (16 in 4th qtr) in a win tonight...lebron had zero points in 4th qtr in a loss tonight

There's no logical argument for Kobe being the MVP. There are a lot of guys who are playing better so far this season. There are a lot of teams playing better than the Lakers. There are a lot of star players outplaying Kobe on teams that are playing better than the Lakers. He had a great game tonight, but don't go full retard bro

If the NBA played a 1-game season, then you might have an argument.

But you can reasonably say that Kobe is the MVP based off of one game?

1 game? He went into last night's game as the second leading scorer in the league, and he's been doing it banged up.
I'm not saying he's the MVP right now - I'd give that to Lebron - but he's definitely in the conversation.

Without Lebron the Heat are still top 5 in the East. They played better against the Hawks without Lebron on the road then they did days before with him when he played. Without Kobe the Lakers maybe have 2 wins this year. 16 years deep in the league and Kobe still showing these young guys how its done and with a torn up wrist. Mamba for MVP!!!

Kobe: 29.5 ppg 6 rpg 6 apg 46%
Not too shabby for a guy that has the same amount of minutes as another all-time great who was averaging 20 ppg with the same mileage.
ETA: Lebron zero in the fourth quarter

I like 4th quarter stats. All you Lebron lovers are gonna be upset when he chokes again.

I agree about Kobe being MVP to this point. The lakers would be lucky to win 10 games without him. Other than Durant, I don't think any one person is as valuable to their team

Prove me wrong then. If you don't think Dewayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Norris Cole, and Mario Chalmers without Lebron would be a top 5 team in the East you are delusional. Hell they were a few years ago with just D Wade and Chalmers. And the Lakers without Kobe are one of the worst teams in the league. Bynum is good but he would be double and triple teamed and they have nobody else to score. Gasol has become a shell of his former self and is playing softer these last two years than ever before

He is at least on the short list. To declare an MVP is just nuts at this point. Obviously, Lebron is the frontrunner.

Lebron has definitely had the better season, but Kobe has been more valuable for the Lakers so far. The Heat are a better team without Lebron than the Lakers are without Kobe IMO.
