Well, I guess that's one silver lining right there.

Excellent. I hope someone at ABC gets fired. They manipulated the system to feed us leftovers. They ruined CFB for me this year, and that was long before last night. The whole "system" stinks and everybody knew it.

That game was hard for a die hard fan like myself to watch (not just because LSU lost, but just the lack of offensive production) so I could see how someone with no dog in the fight could not want to watch it.
And someone on the OT yesterday didn't believe me that NFL was more watched than college football.

Doesn't this have something to do with ESPN claiming the rights

I think people from other conferences were saying all along that they wouldn't watch another rematch of LSU/Alabama. ESPN tried to inject much hype into this "game of the century" and it appears it didn't work. Ratings = revenue so it will be interesting to see if this will bring about any change from the BCS. Power to the People!!

excellent point Rag.
I was surprised that the BCS handed their premier events to ESPN without securing broadcast on ABC, for instance. IT just makes no sense to me....network TV still should have these premier events for max exposure.

not suprising to me at all...only available on cable, rematch, boring first game, all SEC, etc...all serve to reduce the number of folks across the country that would chose to watch....

actually, that was my bad, shank .. espn did the BCS last season too .. my fault ..

Good. Couldn't happen to a bigger bunch of scumbags. Espn and the BCS deserve this.

Thank God, Hopefully a whole lot of the nation didnt watch us stink it up last night.

Who said that? Because what you said is EASILY true. Fantasy football players pushes NFL over the edge in that category. And in the major cities up north and midwest, the people couldn't care less about college football compared to the NFL.

They need to make up their minds. A lot of news outlets are now reporting that it was the 2nd highest rated of all-time. WTF?
ESPN

The All-SEC affair, the first championship pairing of teams from the same conference, drew a 13.8 overnight rating on ESPN.
