Have to work by the airport today, what are some good places to eat in the general area or is it better to just drive downtown or to zachary?

You won't be far from Tony's Seafood. Go there.

Thought about Tony's just no place to sit and eat, any safe parks or places around the area to eat?

Table is bread on airline
tonys seafood on plank (takeout only)
i suggest going to stockyard cafe, its down airline (HWY 190) across the tracks right before you cross the bridge...not far from the airport....they only accept cash tho.

Bayou cafe on airline across from the fruit stand is good
Dixie Made on McClelland has great burgers but it might be scary if you don't know where you are going.

I eat at stockyard prob 2 times a week on my way to work.
Just had the fish from there about 20 min ago....3pc fried fish, rice and gravy, greens and potato salad all for $9....I prefer to spend 9 bucks on a good meal than 6 on fast food

North baton Rouge has more good, hidden places to eat than anywhere else in town. Pick any gas station and odds are there is a deli in it with awesome plate lunches... if you like fried chicken, there is a little place on 61, take the interstate, then right on 61, after the first light, its on the left, little hole in the wall Vietnamese owned place. chicken legs are huge!

It really does. Love some of the places listed in this thread.

Deep south BBQ on plank
I've only had the ribs there but they are fantastic, just can't bring myself to getting anything else when I go even though everything looks great. Best ribs in the area by far IMO. The building isn't much to look at but I love places like that, hole in the wall with great food. I've met the people that own it a few times too and they're damn nice folks.
