Landon Collins - Black Helicopter/Tinfoil Hat Theorists Post Here...

Simple math: Collins wanted to maximize his exposure & mug for the cameras. He wanted to enjoy his recruiting process & build up hype & draw attention to himself. Lots of 5 Stars and lesser have actually tried or done the same thing he's done.
But, his family-including a guy that will probably be an even bigger talent in his little/big brother-realize that the act he's planning on pulling is going to create an incredible backlash from within their respective communities & in the state as a whole.
So, when they realize Burton Burns could pull out a full ride & get out-of-state tuition waived for the girlfriend, they devise/hatch/conjure up a plan:
Blame the girlfriend, & have her get out in front with very pro-Bama Tweets. This is convenient, as her mother somehow thought she was entitled to an asistant coaching position with Caldwell at LSU. Even though she's an Elementary/Junior High level coach now.
Then, when he gets on stage to punk LSU out as the ultimate twist, you can have your family act very Pro-LSU & disappointed, as if they are shocked and/or disappointed.
This way, you can still jerk everyone around-but since you're leaving, its cool. You can also have the angle that its your girl pushing things & that she's "the villain". She's leaving too, so what does she care? Girlfriend's Mom is a teacher. We have teacher's unions. The next time one of them gets fired for anything other than banging a student will be the first time.
You can also allow your family the out of being very Pro-LSU so that they can blunt the community & statewide backlash. They can say, "We tried, y'know?"
What do you think?
Oh, & one more thing...Should I have not had that 2nd Diet Rock Star this morning on the way to work?

Let me simplify this for you...
Kid wants to follow GF. That's not too unusual.
Kid will get just as much exposure and coaching to get him to the next level as he would have gotten at LSU
Mom really wanted him to go to LSU, and was really hoping he would change his mind at the end. He didn't. She felt slighted because her baby chose the GF over her.
Back when he received the invite to play in the Under Armor game, he promised them to keep quiet on his commitment until the game. The kid did that. He didn't lie to anyone, or lead anyone on.
Get over it.
I hope the kid stays healthy. That's ALL I hope him.

You are generous to wish him health.

They got his gf a scholarship so he could follow her there.

for some reason, he likes alabama more than LSU and has no problem leaving his family or going against their wishes.
pretty simple.

my least favorite part of all this is the radio interview someone on TD claimed to have heard on the Tuscaloosa radio station (which was posted about on TD), in which Collins allegedly stated that he has a warm relationship with the WIFE of an assistant coach at Bama.

I knew it was coming the second he stated he was from "New Orleans"....I was oh what? Dude, you live 10 minutes from LSU's campus!...New Orleans...oh he's out!

She's the head women's basketball coach at Dutchtown. Has been since the school opened. She also played basketball at LSU in the 90's

That was the strangest part of the whole thing to me. Why dis your hometown on the way out. He still has a few months of high school left. I can understand and respect his final decision, but that was pretty dumb.

smart recruiting.

I've been posting it all morning.
You guys can have all your little conspiracies but it all boils down to one question.
Where do you think Collins would be going if the GF was going to LSU?
PERIOD.
There's absolutely nothing Alabama can't offer that LSU couldn't.

How many kids go off to college to a far away location just to get away from home and out from under mom and dad's constant watchful eyes?
There are just too many things pulling on him to keep him in the BR area.

Don't care. This kid has few friends left in the LSU community.
