Thats what Herbie just said on ESPN.
I thought Bammer dominated us and just missed some field goals?

Trent only got 3 touches. I expect that to change. We have to be disciplined on run plays.

I agree. Tiger D should expect a much larger dose or Richardson on Monday
ETA: and Bama should expect much more of that option, baby

I thought Herbie said that they went deep in LSU territory?

Meh, we need to be disciplined on play action and TR running out into the flats.

I guess his point is we can't rely on holding Bama to six points again if they have that many opportunities on our side of the field.

but, but, they DOMINATED on offense !!!
4 missed field goals = 1989 San Francisco 49ers.

His point was Bama needs to give it to Richardson more. That's still a pretty amazing stat considering all the talking heads that say Bama "dominated" the first game. I expect that from Gumps, but people that get paid for that crap should know better.

I wonder if that's including OT, because they sure didn't "DOMINATE" in OT. They looked like
a junior high team.

How many touches did he have the first game? It wasnt like he hardly got the ball.
28 touches--23 runs and 5 catches. I guess he needs to carry/catch it 40 times.

Give it to Trent every down if he is so damn good.

Taking one snippet out of what they have said over hours and hours of talk time and displaying that as the gospel of whoever is a colossal waste of brain power. Eventually they are going to mispeak, use the wrong analogy, or get something mixed up.

Crazy thing is I looked at those exact numbers yesterday.
When Alabama got a first and 10 at LSU's 30 and in, they ran 21 plays. (2 5 yard penalties were not included in these stats)
21 plays:
(1) 8 yard gain
(1) turnover - Maze's interception
(5) negative plays
(9) 0-1 yard plays
(5) FG attempts. (The attempt in OT was from the 35.
Total of -12 yards, not including the -10 from penalties.
This is for the entire game!
Trent Richardson's touches in the second half and OT were as follows:
14 touches: 12 carries and 2 catches
12 carries: 10 for 3 yards or less with 2 negative carr.
One for 24 and one for 9 yards.
2 catches: One for 2 yards and One for 17. The 17 yarder was on 3rd and 19, which Alabama punted on the next play.

Definiely agree with what you are saying. But herbstreit said it multiple times in different appearances on TV. You would think that he might check his facts or some one check them for him.

Exactly what I thought. What they don't consider though is that Bama wore TR out just getting to LSU territory.
Without TR, Bama doesn't do jack against LSU. As long as LSU covers his arse out of the backfield, the Tigers will win easily.
Kiper just said he still thinks Bama is the better team, but they made too many mistakes in the first game. Hey d-bag, isn't the better team the one that makes the fewest mistakes and makes plays when the game is on the line? Yeah, thought so.
GEAUX TIGERS!!!

+infinity! I remember thinking that of all the people we don't want to let run free, he is the one!

Another thing Herbie made a point of is that TR avereraged over 8 yards a carry in the 2nd half this year, but failed to point out how few he averaged in the 2nd half v. LSU.
As a previous poster pointed out, he only really hurt us on three touches out of 16.

What is interesting is that rewatching the game, it seemed to me like LSU was the team that didn't really play up to their ability, at least until overtime started.
I think Bama threw the kitchen sink at us and Miles just played about as conservative as you ever see him and they still won in Tuscaloosa.
I think that it is good for our team to have everyone saying that Bama is the better team. I am sure they are tired of hearing it.
