Apparently he's quite the crab leg fan

He expects as he says "an arse beating". Over three score win

He isn't the fricking coach. Who gives a frick what some old man thinks?

And who gives a frick what you think? See how that works?

They didn't have any black players on the 1958 team, FWIW.

Piss on Dietzel. Tell him to hike his butt back to West Point and leave the coaching to Les.

he's not... and he fricking bailed on us to go to South Carolina. But I don't see him sniffing jock straps in Columbia.

FWIW he seemed like a really nice guy. He obviously still loves LSU and was just giving his opinion which I think he's entitled to just like every other fan. It was cool to talk to him.

There are Too many insecure and immature posters on this board. Thanks for sharing.

Look I am a big Les Miles fan, but I have a bunch of coaches in my family, that are also friends/fans of his but they share Paul Dietzel's opinion. Not a big deal, but could have handled that better. nobody id perfect

I was just a kid when he was at LSU. BR people thought he was god. I remember how down everyone was when he left for greener pastures or what he thought were greener pastures. Proved that Lsu football was bigger than any one man and we moved on and look at us now.

Yep and Charlie Mac stepped in and did a good job and they ran him out of Baton Rouge because he couldn't beat the Bear. Nevermind that no one else could either. Charlie Mac loved LSU and represented well always. Why are so many people mad because people liked the job that JL did?

It's college football. It's big boy time.
Jefferson gives us a better shot at beating Alabama, as he proved on November 5th. Ever since it has been evident that we would have to face Alabama again, Jefferson has been getting all of the snaps. He needs all the work he can get, considering he missed the first 4 games of the season.
I feel for Lee. He's a good kid and he was a huge part of our championship run this season. But at the same time, Miles has to do what he has to do.

How about the way Pepsodent Paul treated Mac in 1979? Screw Dietzel.

For the record, I'm not mad that people liked the job JL did. Hell, I liked the job JL did. But personally, I'm tired of the insinuation that 1) JL is an awesome, all world QB (who would have somehow made the wins achieved with JJ as starter somehow shinier and more awesome), and 2) that CLM benched JL the awesome all world QB in favor of an obviously inferior all 'you suck' world QB because he'd rather play favorites than put LSU in the best position to fricking win.

Thanks for the post and I for one like to hear Paul Dietzel's opinion. Rather I agree with it or disagree is irrelevant, Just nice to hear what he has to say and that you had the chance to talk to him. You are right, he is a very cool man. I remember when I was a student at LSU at a basketball game just before Wharton and the BOS let him go, he came up to me as I was waiting in the hallway of the Assembly Center (PMAC) and struck up a conversation. As a sophomore at the time, really enjoyed talking with him.

Yeah. Defenses dropped potential Lee interceptions a lot this season. He played great, but didn't have to face much adversity until Alabama.

Succinct, on point, accurate. Well done.
