LSU permanent East opponent from here on

Am I correct in that it is USC with the other East team rotating out every two years?
Am I right in that The annual Florida series is over after next year?

Where did you hear this...

I think Florida is our permanent east opponent, with USCe rotating this year

The problem with this is I believe Mizzou wants A&M to be their permanent west opponent so they can have a presence in texas where they get a lot of their players. I've heard rumors of LSU and Florida wanting to stop playing each other and LSU would be willing to take USC and Mizzou would play arky. That would leave A&M with Florida.

NO you are NOT correct on either matter.
The schedule released is specifically for 2012 ONLY and does not reflect any future or past alignment or schedule.... 2013 and beyond will be voted on at the Spring meeting and that schedule will later be released.
Bottom line --- no you are wrong on both statements.

The LSU and UF Athletic Departments were BOTH lobbying hard to scrap the series once it appeared conference expansion was inevitable.
LSU91...it makes sense now...Thanks
The fact that Missouri is placed in the East is absurd.

No it's not. Mizzou is closer to Vanderbilt or Kentucky than any SEC West school, and isn't that far from Tenorcee either. Mizzou is close to Arky, but is closer to KY or Vandy than most other west division locations.
Besides, it's easier to put them in the east since TAMU is an obvious west choice. And the geography of it doesn't really matter anyway. Hell, the Saints and Falcons used to be in the NFC West.
You wanna see something screwed up? Try Boise St. in the Big East...lol.

Florida for one more year. If we stick to cross divisional permanent opponents after next year, we will have Kentucky.

There should be NO permanent East opponent now that there are 7 teams per division. That's retarded.
Eta: on another note, the division winner should be decided by division record since each team plays a different schedule against the other division.

I would be very surprised if they didn't get the 9-conference game schedule done by 2013. They dropped the ball on doing it this year, need to get it done next year.

Well TAMU to Lexington is 983 miles
to Nashville is 774 miles
to Knoxville is 936 miles
Point is, where were they gonna put em? We don't have an SEC North.
The powers that be do not have in mind the convenience factor for fans when they do this kind of thing. They are all about attracting new markets, which equals new money.

Auburn and Alabama to the East...Mizz and aTm in the West would have solved it.

I actually like this and would support it. Puts a pretty good spread of the power schools in each division and holds most of the rivalry games intact. Only rivalry I can think of missing in that alignment is UT-UF.
Great idea in my opinion!
