Williams seems to be the one getting over looked. Rondo is good, but isn't a good enough shooter or scorer to be as highly ranked as you have him. Also, it is hard to tell how inflated his assists numbers are playing with 3 potential hall of famers (although, to be fair, this also negatively affects his scoring numbers). I like Rondo, but I am not ready to put him even with D-Will at this point.

Nah. Westbrook or Rondo are overrated if anything. They are all great though.

Westbrook and Rose are virtually the same player, except Westbrook is an elite defender and Rose is not.

Westbrook isn't quite as good offensively as Rose and I don't think he could carry a team the way Rose can. However, Westbrook is a better defender. I give Rose the nod at the moment. JMO.

Not really. Rose has become just as good of a defender.

They shoot about the same percentage, near the same usage rate, Westbrook better Offensive rebounder, better assist man, Rose turns it over less, and has a better TS%.

It's pretty close, IMO.

I think he is "somewhere way above good"...so good that he doesn't even deserve to be mentioned with these hacks.

Hm, you could be right. I was always under the impression that Rose was more of a defensive liability, but I'm not as fluent on individual defensive metrics.

Their on/off on defense seems pretty similar, though.

I can't find stats for just on/off defense. But last year the Thunder were better when Westbrook was off the court. Well, I wouldn't say better, but they outscored the other team more when Westbrook was off the court.

Bulls
Thunder

I think the league is deeper now @ PG than it has been in a long, long time.

The differences are small, but my top 5 would be:

1) Chris Paul
2) Derrick Rose
3) Russell Westbrook
4) D-Will
5) Steve Nash

I think Rondo has a much higher ceiling than Nash, and can give you more, but Nash is so very consistent, and is so very efficient.

Honestly, though, there are probably 15 guys in the league right now that I would be comfortable with trying to win a title with over the next 5 years. That's a rarity in the NBA.

I think 82 games has the specific breakouts, but I'm too busy/lazy to pull it up and link right now.

Kyle lowery in my opinion is easily a top 10 point guard in the league. Nobody knows about him though.

Would help if you spelled his name right

My list is:

Rose
Paul
Rondo
Williams
Westbrook

The next 5 would be (in no particular order):

Curry
Nash
Lowry
Parker
Felton

He'd be much, much higher on my list if I was confident that an office chair couldn't hang 30 on him.

It is fairly close, but Westbrook benefits in getting more open looks and assist opportunities by playing along side Durant, whereas Rose has to shoulder a heavier load and face defenses that key on him more than Westbrook. That is why I think Rose is better, though again, it is pretty close.

That's rather irrelevant when comparing point guards don't you think?

better assist man

Westbrook is/has been passing to Harden, Jeff Green, Ibaka, Perkins, and Durant.

Rose has been passing to Bogans, Deng, Boozer, and Noah.

I'd be shocked if Westbrook didn't have more assists, especially when Rose has been the number one option on his team and Westbrook is the number 2 (even if he forgets that fact from time to time).

Dude is a beastly shooter. He and Monta Ellis are straight raping people with their outside shooting on my 2K12 My Player.

If he would put on some weight and spend some hard time in the offseason with a great retired defensive point (what's The Glove doing these days?), I think he can step it up to a respectable level. He'll never be the best defender at the point, but he doesn't have to be to eventually be the best PG in the league.
