I'm on the road a lot for my job and I pack my own lunch full of fruits and vegetables. I am trying to lose weight and i started packing a big bag of carrots with me and eat that while I am driving. It is fairly boring but it keeps me from eating the crappy fast food.
Also, I started bringing around a Nalgene bottle of water and drink that. I have a piss cup in the car as well so I dont have to worry about that either.

No I don't. Not mostly. I just got a small ice chest for christmas..I am not doing this to loose any weight, i am skinny enough as it is but to reduced my cost of buying fast food.

But would you eat this everyday?
). Since it is getting cold, I sometimes bring a thermos with leftovers from the night beforePosted on 12/27/11 at 10:36 pm to Getntense07

yes. like previously said you can make different sandwiches. you can also just do it a few times a week, which will still cut down on your food costs.

All good calls. I refuse to eat fast food. Trail Mix is my go to when on the road.

I'm on the road most days as well and I just eat healthy when I go out. Grilled chicken, salad with chicken, grilled fish, subway turkey sandwich, etc.

Where are you getting grilled fish on the go?
I normally carry a ziploc of celery and carrot sticks just to crunch on and I keep a sea salt grinder in my console.
I rarely eat fast food so really could not tell what is worth it or healthy and I try to eat a bit better during the day. Now I do like McDonalds coffee and will sometimes get just an order of scrambled eggs which fill me up and good source of protein.on occasion I'll get their oatmeal which is 290 calories and fills you up and they serve it all day long. That is plenty to get me through the day and really cheap too now that I think of it.
Racetrac has fresh fruit and I've noticed they have the microwaved soups which I have had at home and are pretty good so that could be an option.
Lunch can be a tough gig at least for someone trying to eat a little better like me.other quick different options are places like Jasons Deli, Zoe's, Panera Bread etc...not too expensive and different and you can always grab a few eggs at Waffle House fast and cheap.

Oh I just reread and realize you aren't a fat arse like some of us and are doing it to save money.
Well like above said just make a loaf of sandwiches, buy a thermos and if you don't have leftovers make a big pot of homemade soup the just heat up enough daily to fill the thermos. Make a different soup each week. I'm a soup guy so I could have this and almost do have it daily.
