It's way better than letting idiotic callers run the show and go on and on and on with boring, stupid points and comments. Moscona is the best show in BR b/c he keeps a show moving.

I'd much rather hear a show where the host doesn't have the same old callers call in every day (newman, carl the cat, rosco, big ragu, MFP, etc) to where the callers become local celebrities of the show. Get a life people. I'd much rather hear a show where the host talks about current sports that interests the majority of this town rather than who's gonna be 3rd on St. Louis' rotation come spring. I'd much rather hear a show where the host actually has relevant guests on in the world of sports rather than spicy julie or whatever the chick's name is.

ok /rant. But I hate 1210's programming except when that new guy is on there.

I completely agree with you for the most part, but I think there should be a happy medium between practically interviewing callers for 20minutes like songy and completely shutting them off the moment you hear an opinion you don't like. It's one thing to cut off a moron, but when a guy is making good points and engaging in an actual debate, you come off as an immature arse when you just cut them off and then berate them after you hang up. He's developed a serious ego lately and seems to think he's Baton Rouge's own little Collin Cowherd.

still its better than anything 1210 can offer. Ott used to be the best, but he seems to have gotten pretty lazy.

It's his show so he can make his opinion matter the most. I guess for him it must be boring to have to listen to stuff he disagrees with.

I like Mascona, he sounds like Rome at times. But the guy that's smarter than everyone(in his own mind)is on The Jimmy Ott Show, that's Rosco. The dude needs his own talk show.

I haven't listened to sports talk in Baton Rouge since 1996. But just reading these forums on local sports shows, I have come to the conclusion that these sports talk hosts are in it for their own celebrity and they don't really provide much knowledge of current topics. It is almost like a soap opera on television. Listeners seem to become hooked on wannabe broadcasters and the general consensus from what I am hearing is that everyone of these shows suck.

It is like an hour show = 20 minutes of commercials, 25 of banter btw everyday callers and the host, and 15 minutes of crap you could have read in the Morning Advocate. These guys on the radio are either trying to emulate Jim Rome or Colin Cowherd. How much do these jobs pay in the first place ? With HD radio, everybody in Baton Rouge should have their own show. IMO. + .02c

The only thing worse than Matt's interrupting is Ott's. Studdering to say yes and no

Songy is the biggest homer! He loves to talk about other people being homers but he is the king! Also he cracks me up before a football game asking his callers what they think of the upcoming game and he acts very nervous when they talk haha! Dude is just a huge fan!

Word on the street is Mascona was having a hard time with Condon blowing his arse out of the water in the ratings. Like, he refused to even return Rich's calls. At least that's the word around the Y.

Doubtful... I don't know for sure, but I do know for a fact the reason they have Matt the 5-6 extra hour after a few months of being on the air was because He was raping the 3-5, and then Condon raped the 5-6

So they gave Matt and extra hour so their ratings wouldn't plummet at 5 o'clock on a trial basis, and he held on to it. So Espn must be pleased With the results

You have obviously never worked in radio to know that it's his job to take over and keep it moving.

It's his job to hang up mid call over and over and over and over? Read the link I posted, this isn't some random complaint

They gave Matt the extra hour because he couldn't beat Condon head to head. Also, the 5-6 slot is the most important of them all because that's when he most radios are on. Condon, until his recent episode, was destroying Matt there. As bad as Rich can be he's always had a pretty loyal following in his city.
