IF Saban were to go UT who would be Bama' top candidates?

Big IF and I highly doubt it happens. I'm in the camp that doesn't even see Mack Brown getting fired/stepping down. But i have been hearing rumors swirling of Saban to UT. If so who would 'bama go after to replace little nickey?

Of course you have. LSU fans always hear the best rumors about Saban. he's going to the cowboys. He's going to ND. He's going to OSU. he's going to USC. he's going to Penn State. Now he's going to Texas (where there isn't an open job).
Tell me something - when was the last time a coach playing in the National Championship game left? What they hell can he do at Texas that he isn't ALREADY doing at Bama? More money? what is Texas gonna offer that Bama can't/won't match? Get real, Count Chocula.

I do not care if he goes or not, but BAMA cannot match Texas financially if it came down to a bidding war. Nobody can match Texas financially.

In theory this is absolutely correct. In practice, what do you expect Texas to offer? $8M/year? That would get matched in a second by Bama. $10M/year? Matched. Do you honestly think Texas is going to offer Saban - or anyone once that job does open in a couple of years - more than $10M/year? No way. Texas COULD offer $25M/year easily and no one would match it, but they have to offer an amount only relatively above market value.

Since Saban recommended Nutt to LSU when he left, I think it would be Nutt. Seeing as how Bama is gripped to every word out of his mouth.
