Word is he is being considered for a position coaching job and not actually the DC job. Feldman is just getting his info from a bogus report KNWA put out last night.
Of course, I could be totally wrong as Hogville is reporting that he is at the BAC right now.

saban and shannon can't co-exist. Saban will promote a position coach or someone who will be answering to him on the defense. Shannon will want to run his defense, not sabans.

Didn't know much about Nix until I just googled him. Pretty impressive resume I guess, but check out Shannon's 6 years as defensive coordiantor at Miami and how his teams ranked nationally in defense:
2001 – 6th
2002 – 7th
2003 – 2nd
2004 – 28th
2005 – 4th
2006 – 7th
I think this is more of what Petrino is after. He's already proven he has the offensive prowess. Now we just need a powerhouse defense. Fingers crossed..

I don't think Nix is as bad as people make him out to be.
His D is physical which is what we've lacked. Not really his fault that Nutt recruits 20 guys per year who are 6 ft 180 and expects to fill his entire roster out with them beyond lineman

He was a fairly hot commodity before he joined the Dumpster fire that was Ole Miss under Nutt.
