Wow, you people are being total homers about this shite. New Orleans is a shithole in a lot of places and the crime is still high as frick. You call the guy a pussy, but it doesn't matter how bad you are if you're going up against a gun. I love certain parts of NOLA and have gone there with my dad since I was a baby to Saints games, but even I can agree whole-heartedly with him especially from his standpoint where he doesn't feel the sense of pride like we do. Its people like you guys that prevent athletes and celebrities from being honest because they are forced to apologize for "offending" people with their fake outrage.

I've never gone up against a gun, and I'm pretty sure Allen hasn't either.

I honestly don't even know what to say if you think it's acceptable to compare New Orleans to a third world country. I can understand disliking the city because it might night be as nice or as safe as some other places in the US, but to call it that is down right ignorant. I can't even take your opinion seriously.

Of course New Orleans is a shithole in a lot of places. You missed the point that's he's a millionaire who had no reason to go to any of them. To say he can't go out to eat is absurd. And you can be honest without calling an American city a 3rd world country.

He said he doesn't go out, doesn't eat here, and is upset because he cant carry his gun.
NOLA has some of the best food in the world, is nationally renown for its night life, and I (along with many of my friends, and many posters here) was born in New Orleansa and have lived here my whole life. I dont own a gun and I never feel unsafe. To say you agree with him "whole-heartedly" is just stupid.
And of course he doesn't feel the sense of pride like we do and we are being homers about this. We live and breathe New Orleans. If someone talked sh*t about wherever you're from (I assume Alabama or Atlanta) you'd probably be upset to.

Don't try and defend his comments. He is being ignorant at best, but most likely just being an a-hole.

There are shitholes in certain parts of every city. New Orleans doesn't have a monopoly on this. I have been to many big cities and have seen shithole areas in every one of them. New Orleans also has some nice/scenic areas and some of the blighted areas wouldn't be as bad if it wasn't for hurricane Katrina.

yeah, I don't sense any Nola pride from you bro.
Whether he is right or not the people that are actually from the new orleans area... are going to be offended by this.

Well this is interesting. Man, when I read your comments at first I was like "Yea, I agree" and then 3 seconds later I was like "what the frick? I live here now and I don't see it that way!"
I've lived in Birmingham, Atlanta and now New Orleans and I can assure you that B'ham and Atlanta has much worse parts of town than NOLA (being objective). Don't get me wrong, NOLA has it's fair share of sketchy spots and shitty people, but let's be real - who doesn't?
Let's put it this way - I'd much rather be walking by myself in the WORST part of NOLA at night than walking by myself in the WORST parts of ATL or Bham.
Those 2 cities I'd get shot for being white and it being dark. At least in NOLA I could maybe say "Who Dat?" and have a fighters chance at living. Although I wouldn't mean it!!
