I think turkey is the only time it will really matter. Other than that it is just for looks. I love wood on a gun, much warmer on the hands. My duck gun is wood and looks beat all to hell. I kind of like it that way. I have some guns that are pretty but just one look at that gun and you know what it is used for.

It also looks better to me. Though I think taking a camoflage gun to shot something like pheasants would look weird.
