I know right?

What kind of stats did he put up this year?

28 TD's, 4 INT's, roughly 2600 yards. He also had 450 on the ground with around 11 TD's

It appears that the rant has killed myindianafootball.com

Is anyone else having issues getting to the site?

I saw that yesterday haha. Either he has been talking A LOT with Coach Miles, or the paper needs a better editor.

This is great news. We truly have a national reach in recruiting now. For the better part of two decades we could only recruit regionally and always seemed to lose the best in-state athletes. Now we always seem to land the top guys in-state and great guys from out of state and even out of region - Kiel, Peterson, Montgomery, Barksdale, etc. This is big. Congratulations, Les and welcome aboard, Gunner!

According to Southern Sports Tonight, out of Tallahassee, FL.....

LINK

Gunner Kiel said he narrowed his choices to LSU, Alabama, Vanderbilt and Notre Dame before committing to LSU.

I love how they feed these trolls. Alabama hasn't been in the picture for months, yet, they still have to get their little "look at me, we were there too! Saban is a master recruiter!" spec in.

Unpinned and dropping like a rock. Don't guess we will make 200 pages... So near and yet so far away.

Well, Mr. Pom, we hardly knew you! Thanks for making this thread quite the experience! You too, Mr. Chicken!

Our first 5* QB since 2006.

I just don't want the thread to geaux.

Here is a thought:

LSU 2012 Spring Football Game:

White Team QB - Mett, Kiel
Purple Team QB - Rivers, Randell

Gumps are now claiming that Gunner just didn't measure up to their 3-star recruit and that after he picked Indiana over them, Saban realized that Gunner sucked at QB and they didn't want him......Oh, also that he has a bad attitude and mouths off to coaches.......LOL

quote:

Nope, the reason why Saban quit recruiting Kiel is because his ability wasn't up to his standards since his original offer was given. I saw Kiel several times this year, inlcuding the Mailbu QB Elite 11 competiiton, and the kid is not a certain success. In fact in Malibu, he was not even in the top 11 in the country. Where is Kiel?.... LINK Austin Appleby, Hoover (North Canton, Ohio) Neal Burcham, Greenbrier Greenbrier, Ark.) -- MVP Shane Dillon, El Cajon Christian (El Cajon, Calif.) Bart Houston, De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) Chad Kelly, St. Joseph’s (Buffalo. N.Y.) Zach Kline, San Ramon Valley (Danville, Calif.) Jeff Lindquist, Mercer Island (Mercer Island, Wash.) Tanner Mangum, Eagle (Eagle, Idaho) -- MVP* Zeke Pike, Dixie Heights (Fort Mitchell, Ky.) Chad Voytik, Cleveland (Cleveland, Tenn.) Jameis Winston, Hueytown (Hueytown, Ala.) -- MVP

quote:

Kiel broke down mentally and physically at this competition.......basicially, he sucked compared to almost all the other QB's in the competition...I'm not exaggerating this. He could not hit a pass......he wasn't that quick (in comparison to the other QB's there), he missed a lot of passes.....threw high a lot. Bounced many others. Got a bad attitude with the coaches. Now you know why Saban backed off? That's why......otherwise, Saban would have been all over it when Indy floundered.

That's why Saban backed off.

LSU might have themselves "fool's gold"....we will see.

quote:

The reality is, we have 2 more years with AJ, a slew of players that would be drafted wanting to stay becasuse they see the potential of another BCSNC and Ely and Morris developing. Also jusy offered a 2013 QB that appears to have a cannon. Reality, we're right where we need to be with qb develpment. Most other teams, like LSU are way behind in this area.

Kiel is massively overrated. Happens every year. There's always a few guys that the analysts get a massive hard for becuase they have great physical tools but don't have the it factor that separates the superstars. He was playing against piss poor competition in Indiana. The guy didn't even make the Elite Eleven (12) out of 24 QBs.
