You ignore which team has more talent AND ignore the consistency of Luck overall. Played poorly? Hitting guys right in the hands is poor? One bad pass is poor?

Geesh, you really are one of the most sports ignorant individuals here.

This is groundbreaking stuff.

I always liked what Beano Cook said about the Heisman..."you win the Heisman Trophy by winning as the QB of Notre Dame or by being the QB who beats Notre Dame."

It may be outdated by the premise still applies.

Richardson will win it because like Ingram - he's just another RB for ("best or 2nd best team") Bama - next year there will be some other guy to fill the role. Ho-hum. Carry on. Much ado about nothing.

Luck had maybe the worst receivers of any Heisman Trophy QB candidate ever.

Walk-on looking white men can't jump TE bulky body can't separate from defender stiffs.

Luck played poorly against Oregon. We were able to tee off on Luck and not Barkley. Likewise, I honestly believe that Luck has a average to below average receiving corp and Barkley has probably the best duo in cfb.

That's true. USC has a far better receiving corps. But Luck has a better o-line to sit behind.

But consistent? In Luck's first six games, or the weak part of Stanford's schedule, Luck topped 9 yds/att four times. He threw only 3 picks.

In the second half of the season, as the games got harder, Luck has not topped 9 yd/att once (though he's topped 8 three times). He threw 6 picks, or one a game. He also had only one of his four 300 yard passing games in the 2nd half, though that was against USC (he did torch USC).

Sorry that disagreeing with you makes me ignorant. But I'm actually backing up my opinions with facts from the statistical record. And yes, I saw the games, too.

I don't hate Luck, I called it a dead heat between him and Barkley. I break it by Luck not playing as well in the second half of the season and not that well against Oregon (yes, one interception wasn't his fault). He's still an excellent player and probably the #1 pick in the draft.

Barkley has been sacked 6 times all year and USC protected their statue very well. I will say that Barkley's pocket awareness was very good though even with the lack of mobility.

probably a bigger joke that he was "off the radar" to begin with...dude is definitely one of the best players in CFB

Suh winning the Heisman a few years ago would have done wonders for the award

I don't believe Bison was saying you're ignorant

This is a tough year for the heisman. There really is no one that stands out above everyone else like most years. I do think RGIII has a great opportunity to win it if he puts on a show tonight. Last impressions can go a long way in this beauty contest.

DP40 was. I shifted who I was responding to. He said I'm one of the most ignorant people on the board. Because ad hominem attacks really shows your intellect.

See, and I think everybody is close but RGIII. I think he's clearly ahead of the pack, but won't win because he plays for Baylor and ESPN is actively campaigning against him.

I was thinking the same thing. Barkley is a worthy candidate, that he was overlooked all year and added late should be seen as a positive, not a negative.

Though, to be fair, Luck ha a better rating and yds/attempt. Barkley has the better TD/INT ratio and more yards (due to more attempts). It's close. My tiebreaker is "big stage" games. If you have a different one, that's fair. I won't say you're wrong. they are very even.

I saw the numbers between the two players and I thought that they looked close. Then, a lot of posters have said Barkley has the better numbers, which I found to be a little confusing. I thought that maybe I did not check enough stats or something, but low and behold, their numbers are pretty similar. Personally, I do not think it matters between them because it should be Griffin for the Heisman.

Marquis Lee and Woods are two of the best WR I've seen in awhile. Woods beat Keyshawn Johnson's record as a true sophmore and Lee was still able to rack up all of those yards. Woods was hobbled the last 4 games of the season.

They are a very scary duo.

Woods would've been a candidate had he not been hobbled. He could've had a 120 catches or more.

They're a lot of fun to watch and will help whomever becomes the starting QB look good next year. Wait till you see George Farmer, he'll be better than both of them IMO

Come on, he had a perfect throw that should have been a long TD, but the WR just flat dropped it.

I realize that Barkely has had a good year, but how can you go from being off of the radar, to a top finalist with one good game?

one great game?

He had two games with 6 TD's. one with 5, two with four.

Let's look at his body of work.

308 of 446
3528 yards
294 ypg
69.1%
39 TD's
7 INTS

That is not what I would call a "good" season with "one" great game.

We wanted both Lee and Farmer.

Btw, LMJ said the fastest player for Oregon is a redshirting WR named Kelley. Sumler and Blackmon will make Oregon scary. If Barkley and LMJ come back next year, that could be the game of the year outside of perhaps LSU/BAMA.
