Let it go brah, let it go.
He left, he's not coming back and believe me he does NOT care. This fellow here only cares about the $$ nothing else.

Would anyone here not take a major promotion? He then realized that it simply wasn't for him

I think you have left out a few details about the repeated lies Saban told everyone about how he was not going to quit on Miami that year...bottom line is that leaving LSU the way he did, when he realized the NFL was not for him he should have found Texas or another school to move on to BUT NOT BAMA.

Cant we all agree that its time for some of you LSU fans to let saban go....the man has coached on the nfl level, came back to college, won a bcsnc, a heisman trophy winner, and some of you are still whining about him leaving LSU.....saban has moved on, its time for you to do the same....

There was a thread earlier this week about Les Miles making LSU football fun again. I absolutely agree with that.
So you weren't having fun in 2000-2003? I'm sure you were having a blast in 08 and 09 also. It's fun when you win no matter who the coach is.

this thread is ridiculous

the only time Nick Saban gives a shite about LSU is when he has to play them.

Disingenuousness is not an uncommon trait to coaches in such a scenario. Saban is hardly unique in that regard.

He took the best position available.

I have fun even when we are not great. The were a lot of pissed off people at LSU during those 2 years, and people wanted to fire certain people. Most of us knew that crowton needed to go, buy I never stopped having fun watching or following LSU football.

A coach is a part of the team so it does matter.
Miles loves this program and that makes it MUCH more fun to win.

Apparently LSU fans easily forget that Saban left LSU to essentially have full control over a NFL organization.

I don't begrudge Saban going to the NFL at all. I do have a problem with the way he did it, on Christmas Day, leaving us scrambling to find a coach (although it has worked out well with Miles.)

And his returning to the college ranks at Bama--if not a per se rival, certainly our biggest SEC compeitor--rankles. He could have gone to another school, another conference. There are other elite schools out there, and there are always openings coming available. He could have waited for a job that wasn't in direct competition if he REALLY loved LSU.

I don't doubt he enjoyed his time here, and probably wishes he hadn't left. But at the end of the day, he's all about Saban. His job is to beat us, and that's his focus now. I'm not going to waste much effort feeling sorry for him.

No but Alabama is a miserable place. I would say that we as LSU fans are pretty charged about our team. Those people are a cult. If saban ever leaves them I wouldn't be surprised if some heavens gate type stuff happened.

I gotta agree with this. The Gump fans have hated all their head coaches since The Bear. If Saban doesn't live up to what they feel they are entitled to, he's gonna find out how quickly they will turn on him.

I listened to the interview myself and came away shocked , its obvious he misses LSU , how much I don't know . They asked him to talk about his experience at the champiuonsip game...he didnt talk about Bama two years ago, he proceeded to talk about LSU 01 and said we had a hell of a team and we enjoyed playing Tennessee and winning the SEC championship, thought it was odd he didnt talk about Bama two years ago and used we for LSU. I don't miss him to be honest, appreciate what he has done, glad we have the coach we have now. It will still be sweet to beat that SOB in revenge of revenge of revnege games in Nawlins, bring it on baby, nothing sweeter than holding that crystal ball with ole nick on the opposite side, The LSU Freaks is in his head

Let's give Miles credit for being the man, after the man.

Zook, after Spurrier....gone.
Coker, after Davis......gone. (talent made him win.)
Solich after Osbourne....gone
The many coaches after Dooley at Uga....gone.

MIles not only survived, unlike so many after a great coach, he thrived.
