Every Non-Bama SEC Fan should be AGAINST a Rematch

Let’s assume that each of LSU and Ok. State win on Sat. Also, let’s assume LSU would beat either Bama or Ok. State on January 9.
As sweet as it would be to beat Bama for the third time in 14 months, it would be better for the conference as a whole (and arguably LSU) for LSU to beat Ok. State instead. The run of 5 BCS titles is great, but if the game is between LSU/Bama there is a bit of an asterisks on the 6th straight. The reason the SEC has gained so much respect over the past 5 years is because of the dominance over other conferences in those games. This is one of the reasons that so many fans across the country outside the south hate the SEC.
If the SEC wins another BCS Title Game against the Big 12, no one from the Big 12 or the Pac 12 (arguably the second and third best conferences in the NCAA) could complain of SEC bias being that LSU would have beaten each conference’s champion in the same year. Also, if Bama does not get the rematch, presumably they would go to the Sugar Bowl and notch another BCS bowl win for the SEC (assuming they didn’t have to play Utah again – couldn’t help myself).
Ultimately conferences are ranked in connection with quality wins against quality opponents from other conferences. If there is a rematch, that is likely two less SEC "quality" wins against other conferences in 2011.
Further, as many of you have seen in comments sections across the internet, there is a strong national sentiment against a rematch. Undoubtedly, there will be voters that do not want to see a rematch and some of those voters ultimately will not be happy if it indeed takes place. This in turn could adversely affect their voting with respect to SEC teams in the future (consciously or not).
Some LSU fans may argue that beating Bama again trumps all (i.e., could further help recruiting). My despise for Bama makes me feel that way a bit, but ultimately LSU + SEC dominance is more important.
SEC fans across the country should cheer for no rematch and an ultimate blow-out by LSU of Ok. State in the BCS Title Game. Thoughts?

How do you know or even assume that LSU will blow out OSU

I don't ... I am just saying that it would be the best case scenario (even over a win over Bama).

I'll think for myself, thank you. I think OK state deserves the bid if they win out, but will be perfectly happy to watch an LSU/Bama rematch.

What could possibly show more conference dominance than two teams from the same conference playing for the National Championship? It says that every other conference's champion wasn't as good as the SEC's 2nd best team.
If you're really an SEC fan, you should pull for UGA to beat LSU, then have LSU and Bama play for the title...that way 3 SEC teams get into the BCS, and $15 million more goes into the conference's pot.

They lost to Iowa State and even though they won these games they could easily have lost to Texas A&M and Kansas State.
Defensively they're weak.

Bama played LSU in a home game... regular season. They lost. The we didnt lose as bad as some others...is bullshite. You lost. I put this garbage up there with, the Cards won the world series, but since the cubs had thier number all year and played them close, they deserve to play them for the world series...
Now, IF bama is given a another shot thats a redo , a do over and time out I want another chance...
Sorry Im not familar with the rule that says you get to keep playing until you win.
braindead? Serious? I think youre the one whos brain dead.. tell me how a bama lsu rematch isnt a redo ...

This just in LSU defeated Bama 9-6 in overtime, back on November 5, 2011. That flash again is Bama was beaten at home by LSU on November 5, 2011... .back to your regular message board schedule.

We are finding all kinds of new ways of contorting ourselves in an effort to justify our chickenshitness. This reach here, is quite impressive.

Game happened a month ago.
Extra body of work put in since the game.
Other teams who had their chance to play instead have lost to subpar opponents.
By your logic, no team deserves a shot at all if they lost period.
Had Bama NOT been in the SECw, they'd be 12-0 (99% likely). They are the 2 best teams in the country. The 2 best teams play in the title game (usually).
The biggest gripe is when the 2 best teams DONT play because one gets left out. This year the gripe is that the 2 best SHOULDNT play.
You are brain dead. You're just a scared fan who doesn't want his dreams shattered by an EXTREMELY tough opponent. Thats all there is to it.

Soooooo....... by HIS logic, we should be playing the Houston Cougars??

hey screw you stupid... Your not using logic. Bama isnt undefeated. By your logic, what there is of it, since Tennesee has done extra work since we had bama in the first half and lost in the second, we deserve a second shot? chickenshitness? Listen stupid. If you had not played bama in the regular season, Id be all for it, since you beat them, they dont get a second shot.. thats a do over...DUMBASS
