highly overrated, frequently whiffs tackles, terribly slow in pass coverage.
allegedly has been playing with an injury all season but he never lived up to his HS potential.
btw, story came out today that most of the current irish players believe he is coming back; guess it will depend on this draft projection.

Giants projected at 16th pick right now...with our biggest need at OL, I wouldn't mind having Barrett Jones out of Alabama, even though we will probably take someone like David DeCastro from Stanford.

Well, if we can't get him, we need to go after one of these three: 1) Claiborne 2) Kirkpatrick 3) Melvin Ingram
I would say Vontez Burfict, but he's just too emotional...

Oddly, winning games has kind of painted them into a corner.
It's an odd situation, for sure.

I see him being a huge liabilty in coverage. He's a dominant run stopper, though.
ILB in a 3-4 dont need to cover

One of them doesn't, the other does.
If this is about Pitt, they have an insanely talented and fast LB already so they can get away with it.

Some do. Someone could back me up on this, but I've read where Nico Johnson comes out of the game in favor of CJ Moseley because of his lack of pass coverage ability (Alabama's LBs). Plus, in the 2012 Iron Bowl, Dont'a was matched up with McCalebb some out of the back field and he was way too slow. He is a very smart player, though. Maybe he'll be able to adjust.

Nico has actually gotten pretty solid at pass coverage as the season has progressed. Moseley hasn't played nearly as much this year as he did last year because of it.

I know in the BB 34 (All coaches run their 34 differently fwiw) you usually have a decently athletic LB (Bruschi/Mayo) that can cover, TFL, stuff like that. Then you have the bigger guy who's only reason for being on the team is run stopping (Ted Johnson/Brandon Spikes).

That makes sense. I was just using him as an example to prove that some ILB in the 3-4 have to actually pass cover.

expecting any LB to cover McCaleb would be crazy.

damn mock draft has Ryan Broyles going 92 overall to Pats in 3rd round...
Does he really go that late?

Yeah, I was about to say, what LB could cover that guy? He's fast as frick.

Sean Lee is one of the best pass coverage linebackers in the league. he's an inside backer in 3-4.

Meh, just wait for the wind to blow and OMAC falls down

he is. i
ts not a prerequisite though.
those cold weather 3-4 teams wont hesitate to add some beef in the middle if the guy is also athletic.

I would JIMP a little as a pats fan. He could deffinitly fit in our system.
If he falls that far itll be due to the injury plus a loaded WR class
