Not that impressed with them. They gave up over 200 yards to SC, and they haven't really played anyone with a running offense like LSU's. I know, Ga Tech is a running team, but, you gotta figure that GA spent alot of time leading up to that game to prepare for the triple option.

I predict we run for over 200 yards on them, 2 picks and the score won't be close.

I think LSU wins this, but no way we beat them by 32 points in the UGA-partial Georgia dome.

Georgia is a solid, if not elite team this year. It will be a nail-biter headed into the 4th quarter. That said, if LSU plays turnover free, I can't see UGA winning, though certainly I don't see them losing by 30+ points.

I could be wrong, but Lattimore hadn't been injured at this point in the season. I mean, 200 yds is still a lot, but you have to give credit to Lattimore he's a hell of a back...when he's not hurt.

You make it sound like somebody has to play LSU, Alabama, or Arkansas to show they have a good defense. What about Florida, UT, SC, Kentucky, Vandy, Auburn, and Boise State? They won most of those games.

I'm sure there's very little difference in the running games of LSU and Florida.

TEAM/OPPENENT DIV 1 RUSHING RANK
Boise ST 53
South Cackalacky 25
Ole Piss 84
Misses State 40
Tenn 116
Vandy 42
Florida 73
New Mexican State 89
Auburned 35
UKanDoit 88
GTech 3 (against that stout ACC)

LSU 17

Just don't really see amazing stuff here to justify putting UGA's run D on a pedestal. Decent maybe but nothing I'd be bragging about. GT plays a lot of crap schools with that high school offense.

LSU 43
UGA 13

And still gave up 240+ yards rushing, I believe. They faced two decent running attacks and got gashed by both. They are in for a rude awakening, just like the first twelve oppponents.

We gave up 200 to SC and one was a 70 yard fake punt, so 130 essentially.

Vandy's QB was new to us and we didn't have much film so he scrambled for probably 60+ yards against us.

Ga Tech is Ga Tech. You guys keep saying all this garbage about how our Run Defense is overrated, but you didn't look at how they got the runs. You're a true running team and you have extremely deep talented RB's. We will see what happens, but judging our defense based on a game that was so early in the season is short sighted.

It should be relatively low-scoring simply because both teams like to run it. That burns up clock.

That's with Lattimore, man.

UGA plays defense, particularly run defense, better than Arkansas. We will run on them, but we ran on Bama. Running on UGA means we're good, not necessarily that they are bad.

Rushing yds allowed for each game for our 6 common opponents...

Miss-- UGA 34/LSU 148
MSU -- UGA 56/LSU 59
UT -- UGA -21/LSU 111
UF -- UGA -19/LSU 113
KY -- UGA 23/LSU 89
AU -- UGA 51/LSU 87

UGA allowed a total of 124 yards for all 6 common opponents (20.1 ypg)
LSU allowed a total of 607 yards for all 6 common opponents (101.1 ypg)

I think at a minimum you have to conclude that UGA's run defense is as good as LSUs.
