Does Meyer steal Studrawa from us?

This is the big buzz on ESPN, that since Stud was a former asst to Meyer and he is from Ohio that he's a sure shot to be headed to OSU as Off Coordinator for the Buckeyes.
With the success that Stud-Thorpe has had this year, I'd hate to see him go.

I think it will depend on whether LSU offers him the full time OC position.

Who would have thought we would be worried about losing Stud to Ohio State at the start if the season?

take Stud, leave Krags here IMO

I'm not sold that the offense is even 70% Stud this year. Its gonna become a money deal and LSU may not want to pay a ton knowing it isn't his offense completely. Will Kragthorpe see a major salary reduction?

We really have no way of knowing just how much Krags has been involved with the Off. calling. We dont know how his illness has been affecting him, all we know is whatever is going on preparing the game plan and in the pressbox during the game is working and would hate to see it disrupted...

he might've not liked working for Meyer (why did he leave in the first place?), just because he is native to Ohio doesn't mean he would move back (I'm originally from New York but you couldn't pay me enough to move back)...Stud may LOVE LA...and moving to Ohio State is basically going into a rebuilding project on probation, with LSU you have a legit National Contender for THIS year and maybe NEXT...if Stud leaves, oh well...that's what people do...remember when Nick Whatshisname left? people were convinced LSU would NEVER reach greatness again...coaches, players come and go but the PROGRAM lasts...
FOREVER LSU

He didn't leave. He stayed at Bowling Green as the OC (promotion) when Meyer went to Utah.

so Meyer left and did NOT take Stud with him...very telling IMO

I just can't see Stud leaving with LSU loaded like it is and if LSU wants to keep him here, they will offer him a comparable salary.

I agree. Stud IMO knows what he could have control over next year. It looks to be ANOTHER Nat'l championship caliber team with the entire backfield returning.
So far the Stud-Kragthorpe-Miles offense has been the best we've had since '07 and I haven't heard of any of the internal struggles that we seem to have had between Miles and Crowton. How's Maryland at 2-10 doing for ya Gary?

Did you miss the part where he was promoted to stay at Bowling Green?

My understanding is that he doesn't really want to be an OC. I'm sure he wants OC money but not the daily grind. I think he stays

Hanagriff discussed this in Bill King'd shoe a few weeks back. Said Stud is happy here and has one daughter that will be a sr in high school and another in high school. Hanagriff said that he did not see Stud uprooting the family to coach with Meyer especially given Meyer's track record of moving around.

If he leaves we will be fine or even better off. Hopefully, Kragthorpe can get his condition under control via medication; he has definitely made an impact on our quarterbacks. I suspect Ben Wilkerson is doing a great job with our O-line, and Miles is involved in that aspect also. If Stud goes we bring in a good teacher who can implement the offense.

Like most fans, I have no clue about how much anybody is invovled in the offense or "whose" offense is it. We certainly can say it isn't Crowton's offense. That we know. I wondered about this the other day when Meyer's first "denial" about having an offer to coach OSU came up, and Studwara's name was mentioned. As STudwara I asked, what do I get by going there?
In the first palce I get to coach with a guy who was at death's door, stressed beyond belief, and all about family time. That's why he left Florida. The Florida people must be pissed with these shades of SAbanesque spirits floating around the room. He seems to have made a remarkable recovery while putting his family issues behind him. What a crock! Most coaches couldn't even name their children much less worry about being at a volleyball game watching their ten year old play for fifth place.
Studwara would be looking at sanctions and rebuilding while being pressed to achieve. Maybe he would thrive on that, but it is obvious that this was a great season with the potential for a better season next year due to present and future talent. You would probably have to try and match the OSU offer which we could likely do, but who knows? I don't think he is the greatest recruiter from what I read. I am feeling if he is really good at what he does, then perhaps he would rather be the main guy one day. His time at LSU would be good for a resume'.
But like most people on this board, I problably have no idea as to what I am talking about. Everything we read will be all conjecture.

I question your intelligence if you think Ben Wilkerson in his 2 seasons as a GA has attained the level of knowledge as Stud to coach the position. Try as everyone might to dismiss what Stud has done, there is absolutely nothing to suggest he's not a good--if not really good--football coach. We may get somebody better, but I think there's a pretty good chance we may not. I love the combo we have working now. But I think like somebody mentioned with Krag's salary, can we really afford to pay a QB coach 700K? Something might have to give somewhere.

As vanilla as our offense is, would it be a big loss? Krags would still be here and I think this offense is exactly what Miles wants to run. Not downplaying Stud in any way, but I think we would be ok as far as playcalling goes.
Posted on 11/29/11 at 8:34 am to FullBloodedTiger
I say no. LSU is loaded and it would be foolish to step away now.

He could have gone to Utah with Meyer as OL coach. I think he was prepared to go when he got the offer of OC and he chose to stay.
