The two teams are about as evenly matched as can be. That was evident by a 3 point overtime win. The game can go either way. And the odds of either team winning 2 in a row over the other cant be favorable. So lets say we play again and Bama wins. All that proves is the game can go either way and Bama had the luck of the draw that game 2 was for a title. LSUs win in Tuscaloosa would be forgotten in time and Bama would be remembered as champions. When in reality we were left with a 1-1 series that in no way proved who was better. It would be ludicrous for lsu to come out of Atlanta at 13-0 as the SECs best team only for the voters to say "woah woah woah...we're going to give you another conference game from the nations toughest conference so you can prove youre better than a team you already beat." Its a matter of principle. /rant. Tl;dr

Just look at the scores against common opponents to back that up as well. Almost identical. When you really start to analyze it, it is utter bullshite. Only Bama could swing this kind of shite with support from the national media.

Tts what I've been preaching. I'm not scared of Bama, I just don't think they deserve a chance to win it all when we already beat them at their house.

If we have to play the gumps again, then it means the regular season means nothing.

It also means you don't even have to win your division to play for the MNC.

It sucks on a bunch of levels squared.

If LSU plays Bama for the NC and wins with a 14-0 season I will say this is definitely the best college football team in history.

So says a fan of the only two loss national champion! LSU got some favorable press in 2007, too.

You are not alone. I agree and so do many across the country.

The way I see it. if OSu beats OU it's a done deal OSU is in.

I really don't think VT or Stanford really have a shot.

Why do we have to beat Alabama twice in order to be Nat'l Champs and Alabama only has to beat us once to take the crown? Do they plan on having a rubber match?!

If we have to beat them twice to win the title outright, then splitting games with them should at least get us a split title.

If the shoe were on the other foot we would be begging for a rematch! If bama's #2 then so be it. I still believe we left points on the field that night and could have beaten the tide by a 7 to 10 in regulation. Les and crew has proven that given that much time to prepare they will be ready!

It's crazy to think just how even these teams are when you look at the margin of vicotry against common opponents:

LSU:
13 Miss St (19-6)
30 Florida (41-11)
31 Tenn (38-7)
35 Auburn (45-10)
49 Ole Miss (52-3)
24 Arkansas (41-17)

BAMA:
17 Miss St (24-7)
28 Florida (38-10)
31 Tenn (37-6)
28 Auburn (42-14)
45 Ole Miss (52-7)
24 Arkansas (38-14)

LSU v. BAMA 9-6 OT

Dead heat.

As evenly matched as the teams are I believe that in N.O. LSU can actually win by a score or 2. Think about it this way JJ is playing decent and Bama couldn't keep up when we hit the edge last game, for whatever reason we didn't stick to that, so I think we have a better chance of beating them by a few than them beating us by any margin. Bama also seems to have peaked already where as LSU seems to get better every week.

Still I m not for a rematch but hell bring them on if that is what it must be.

I don't care who we play. Line Aaron Rodgers up and we kick his arse in NOLA. This team is special and has gone undefeated. Enjoy it and the great time it is to be a Tiger fan.

LSU also had the best case in the country for being in that game. The real controversy that year was between OU and USC.
