For those who have been critical of Russell Shepard's play

I fall into this category, and have felt that his playing time at WR has been forced. Figured it was only a matter of time before Jarvis Landry took over, because Shepard just wasn't that physical.
Yesterday, Russell Shepard blocked his arse off, and if anyone needs any evidence to the point, I'll make a list of plays I watched last night on the DVR. Didn't matter if it was playside, backside or even the actual critical block at the point of attack, Shepard came through.
I'm talking about the kind of stuff that keeps you on the field.
Kudos to Shep!

As he always does. Which is more than likely why he is still starting. Our offense needs good outside blockers. Good thing LSU hasn't gotten away from WR's who can block. To caveat on that I wish Shep wasn't so scared to take a hit.

not only did he make the key block down field on the JJ TD run,
but he actually went down (giving up the hope of a TD)
to make a RECEPTION when the game was still on the line. AT LAST!!

Jarvis Landry is an excellent blocker.
Just playing devils advocate here, I like RS

I agree Wahoocs. I saw that. He was key on several blocks, he even pancaked some DB to spring one big run.
