Mathieu has been solid in coverage and, as mentioned by others, is playing more corner. Against WKU, he tipped the pass that Jones intercepted. He won't get credit for making the play but contributed to it happening.

He was kind of banged on on this board for not showing up in the Bama game too. However, after watching the replay he was wreaking havoc all over the place. He turned Richardson inside and up the back of his own linemen so many times it was just silly. Not to mention he altered about 5 passes by coming off the edge and jumping up to block the sight-line of the QB. Just because he doesn't have a ff for a TD or a pick every game doesn't mean he's just out there cashing it in.

How do YOU know that what TM7 is doing IS part of the system? He's they exact type of player that you give some free reign too. .

because I have seen him go for the BIG play and miss a tackle and allow YACs because of it.

he showed it to me.

You never try to hold back a playmaker

sometimes you must, because if he misses with the "home run", the result will be a "strike out".

we do not always need a "home run"

hold back does not equal not playing within the sys.
you simply put the player with that ability in a position to make plays without being vulnerable.
