I like Jefferson (and Lee for that matter). However, I don't think it is his "swag" that is debated when comparing him to Lee or other quarterbacks. Confidence is a key component to being an effective QB. At the same time, consistency also has to be there as well.

Confidence? You mean just plain dense. He can go 3 for 12 for 40 yards with 6 sacks and 2 interceptions and as long as the team won. He would always say that he thinks that he played pretty good. Or he could blame the play calling for his poor performance. That is called what? Swag?

It is probably called being advised to answer in as positively as possible. I can't believe LSU fans care so much about how a 20 yr old answers a dumb arse reporters question. Obviously if we win he is going to be somehwat happy no matter how poorly he performed. Would it really make yall feel better if he came out and said look we won but I sucked....or better yet added some more honest opinions such as yeh on this play Tbob blew his block and RR ran the wrong route etc.

All that matters is winning. With that said, who had more influence getting us to this point? Lee, plain and simple. We saw the offensive issues the past two years with Jefferson at the helm. Sure, Lee had a bad Bama game, but that's the advantage of having two QB's. When one falters you have another that can step in. When it all comes down to it, both Lee and Jefferson are mediocre. No one can convince me otherwise. However, the offense seems to run a bit better under Lee, because he is more in the vein of Mauck and Flynn. QB's who may not have been the most talented, but they did great jobs managing the game and led us to National Championships. I think a lot of fans recognize this and are a little worried that Jefferson will falter and Miles will stubbornly ride him out of the NC hunt. It's a very legitimate concern considering Miles and Jefferson's history. Now, I can't say it will happen, but it is a possibility.

This is the best explanation of the situation I have read yet. You are 100% right on target, particularly the following statement:

He did not earn the swag...this is the problem. Withhout Lee starting against Arkansas, we lose, this may unfortunately become reality.

I'm sick of that "neither is good enough alone" argument. How stupid. Was Lee not good enough when he was taking 100% of the snaps? We're not going to play another D in the same universe as Alabama, so don't even try to point at that game.

That's such a shitty argument

I think people have issue with his arrogance and lack of accountability. Also, at times it appears he cares about himself more than the team. I just don't like his attitude in general. It's not a "black vs white" or a "runner vs passer". Just something about him aggravates me and I don't enjoy watching him play football. All in all, I think Jarrett Lee is easier to route for. Just my 2 cents.

WTF does that matter?

Are we playing Alabamas D this week? Or next week? Or again at all this season?

there's only one thing I care about: offensive production.

Lee lead offenses have been much better than Jefferson lead offenses. That's the only reason that I believe that Lee is the better quarterback.
