Does your gamesmanship vary when you stray away from your "home" area?

I.e. will you shoot a smaller deer on someone else's land vs your own hunting spot where you try to manage your herd?
Or
I.e. will you keep more bass (smaller or larger) than normal when you are away from your home waters?
Basically, do you exploit "other" areas?

Not really, part of my gamesmanship is knowing when to keep more fish (ponds that don't get fished, saltwater), when to throw back (recovering spillway), when to shoot small bucks (in the swamp where they don't grow that big), and when to pass on big, immature deer (land that friends are managing).

I try to be on my P's and Q's when on someone else's property. I've passed up nice deer at other peoples places out of fear of fricking up. Even when I was sure they were legal..

Everytime I've been on someone else's property I tend to ask what their "rules" are. I usually set the bar a little higher then what they want...for the priveledge to hunt/fish there.

This. I let that big cull 6er almost get by me because I was not going to take a chance.

I try to be an even better sporstman than I am on my home turf.

I suppose hunting is a bad example... I was mainly concerned with fishing. If I fish for bass in an area I hardly fish, I usually keep more than if I were around my camp.
I.e. go to Venice = keep fish

Hunting- I will let one walk if it is close to what they normally shoot or if i dont have a good shot. I never want to cripple an animal on someone elses land.
Fishing- I usually only keep what we are going to eat unless we are fishing for trout/ reds. I will freeze those b/c i dont get to go that often

Definitely. That place, like Gibson, is so fertile and vast, I have no problems keeping a mess of bass. I still don't like keeping bass in the spillway or Verrett because, to me, it is still recovering.
